davieG Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 On your marks, get set GO. If the rumours I'm hearing today are to be believed you won't wait long........there was a lot of rumour before regarding McGhee coming back, now the rumour is that RK has suggested to the board McGhee comes in as manager with him stepping down to senior coach, a role he prefers. RK and Stowell worked for McGhee at Wolves, so happy families and a role RK is more comfortable with.
The People's Hero Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 I dunno whether to be hopeful or not. Can we get any worse?
Ricey Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 If this is true I'm finding the nearest bridge and jumping.
The People's Hero Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 I've decided I'd welcome it. We certainly need a change of emphasis and perspective at the top.
Jimmy Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 he did get us doing some good stuff but i'd prefer little, at least he moved because villa were a prem club and his wife worked for villa
steve_wilson101 Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 This will never happen. McGee is not welcome, he knows that and the club know it too. I also seriously doubt that RK is suggesting he step down and even if he did McGee has done nothing at all since he left us to suggest he would be capable of turning this situation round. Will people get off Kelly's back for a while - rumours and moaning aren't going to help - some solid support just might!

This is nothing to do with a Mackem BUT I, really, do hope for your sakes that it is not true. :w00t: McGhee is a mercenary and a not very successful one at that. Would I ever have wanted to see him at the SOL, even in the bad old days, before the takeover?
Louise Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Cheer up Mark McGhee, Oh what can it mean To a, fat Scottish bastard And a, shit football teeeeam Us
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 I'd be extremly upset if this happens......I stress extremly. I'd have to have to think very carefully about a) pack in suppourting a team altogther. b) look for a decent job in London and start and follow West Ham or Arsenal. c) Become heavily involved in trying to remove the current board from this club by any means possible. Good job I think even TNBD has more sense than that.

Good job I think even TNBD has more sense than that. Never fear, the Foxes Trust are currently considering their options regarding the facilitation of contingency plans should the proposals arising from recent discussions concerning the investment and indeed injection or otherwise of external funds into the club take place within a time period which may or may not be in line with current estimates which would place us on a sound financial footing with regard to the playing staff and the ability to gain promotion although there are several other options which need considering and these will be considered in due course after investigating and researching a number of avenues down which the club may find itself within a timescale which may or may not need investigating and researching within itself.

At least he's used to working with a bunch of actors, comedians and bullshitters. Should have no problems with the current board.
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 If it happens, please choose C. I'd join in and help you It's all crap any way, I've read some shit GTfox has come out with but that takes the biscuit, fat basterd McGee back at this club? It would be the end, I don't think I'd be the only considering packing it all in. I've followed this club my whole life and I can put up with it shooting itself in the foot, but no to that extent.
lcfc_jme Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 So the general feeling is that everybody is 95-99% sure this story is a load of b*ll*cks??
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 So the general feeling is that everybody is 95-99% sure this story is a load of b*ll*cks?? The whole thing is a piss take, as DavieG has pointed out. GTFox has come out with some absloute rubbishin the past, fair enough occasionally he has been right about certain things, but there is no way this will happen. I'm just pointing out it would probabley be the one thing that would make me conisder packing in everything to do with this club. I tend to follow football as a whole, and I don't have alot of inside knowledge reagrding the club and the peopele involved with it, but Mark McGee was a friend of a ex friend and I would sooner stamp on his fat Scottish head than have him back here.
lcfc_jme Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Point taken in and understood. He isn't welcome here and isn't coming here so there is no need to worry or even think about it
Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 Point taken in and understood. He isn't welcome here and isn't coming here so there is no need to worry or even think about it You're an impressionable young chap aren't you?
lcfc_jme Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 You're an impressionable young chap aren't you? hmmm I wouldn't say impressionable as I'm still quite independant in my views and judgements, it's just I tend to listen to older and more experienced City fans more as they have a better idea of what they're on about than me. Say one or two things out of line on here to somebody respected as a poster on this forum and suddenly you have 3, 4 or 5 people ranting at you about how you're out of order, or "getting on their tits" so to speak
The People's Hero Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 You're an impressionable young chap aren't you? An ideal yes man. Ever considered a prominent position in the Foxes Trust?

It shouldn't be a thin line though between putting your own views across in opposition to someone who might be "respected" as a poster and coming across as being "out of line" as you say. But don't listen to Manwell, he doesn't know what he's on about.
Daggers Posted 15 September 2006 Posted 15 September 2006 You're an impressionable young chap aren't you? If he is then someone go tell him to fetch me more booze and some fine couch candy to sit here and drink it with me...Mrs DB is resting and I am lonely.
