Ric Flair Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 Considering we've got no money and we would all love Levein to make a signing, who would you sign if you could? Be realistic and your only allowed to make one signing. You've got no more than £500,000 to make this purchase. Mine would have to be a striker and i'd go with a lower league striker who's been banging the goals in. Leroy Lita
Muz Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 Izale Mcleod Watched him for Derby last year.He looked very lively and a good talent. They let him go though because he refused to play in the reserves this season and wanted first team football. Doing well for the MK Dons id get him in.We would have money spare aswell with that i would get Danny Coles from Bristol
Scow Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 Maybe someone like Luke Moore from Villa - A young striker with plenty of potential, had an excellent loan spell at Wycombe last season. Although probably would be wise to bring him on loan and see how he performs first. Or we could try and nick one of Pompey's strikers - They have Fuller, Yakubu, Kamara and Lua Lua all vying for two striking positions. We realistically wouldn't be able to afford say Fuller or Lua Lua, but a loan deal wouldn't be far off. Then there is Arsenal striker Quincy Owusu-Abeyie - He could rip any defence apart, he's so quick. I've seen a few of Arsenal's carling cup games and he's been on fire. Again, we couldn't buy him, but there is always the loan option.
MADLEVEIN Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 Richie partridge liverpool left winger dean ashton....maybe cost more than 500k neil lennon...love to see him back here.
discojoe Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 i would spend the money keeping stuart here till the end of the season
Mark Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, Richie Partridge on loan. Buy Billy Jones from Crewe and Scott Taylor from Blackpool.
Red Mist Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 I would use all of the £500,000 to take Andy Impey back to the Walkers It's a lovely thought. Edit: I'd ask for Alan Rogers to be thrown in as well.

Red Mist Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 I'd have Andy Reid 45564 Heh. Even if you could persuade Leicester Tigers to buy a 50% stake in him, I think he'd be a bit beyond your means On a serious note, I think Reid will go for about £3m + add ons in January. On another serious note, how much do you think Levein will get to spend in the summer (assuming you're still in this division)? Does this depend on the resolution of the stadium negotiations?

One minute we were making a thre million pound prfoit the next the immediatate future of the club was dependent on the ground share. Your guess is as good as ours really, I would never have thought we would have been able to spend the 500k tranfer fee that we did on Connolly in the summer.
Steven Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 Derek Riordan from Hibernian. 45685 Is this the same Derek Riordan Easter Road boss Tony Mowbray kept striker Derek Riordan in his line-up, despite his arrest after a late-night disturbance in Edinburgh in the early hours of Wednesday. I think we have had enough of player bad behaviour for a while. :w00t:

I reckon we should sign Gary Taylor-Fletcher (striker) from Lincoln. Ever since his back-heel-volley-lob he scored last season when the ball was behind him in the air, I've hailed him as a legend.

Collymore Posted 11 December 2004 Posted 11 December 2004 Paul Parry, he used to play for hereford but moved to a championship side QPR i think but note sure. Remember when he ripped us apart when we played hereford in one of the cups a few seasons back. Good left sided attacker with plenty of potential.

howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 11 December 2004 Posted 11 December 2004 id sign a hitman to take out nathan blake, dean ashton would be good if we could afford him
Mark Posted 11 December 2004 Posted 11 December 2004 id sign a hitman to take out nathan blake, dean ashton would be good if we could afford him 45865 No chance, Premiership clubs are interested, i expect him to leave Crewe in January, not good for my Fantasy Football team
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 11 December 2004 Posted 11 December 2004 oh well , theres a few strikers in this league i'd give my arms for
Anish Posted 11 December 2004 Posted 11 December 2004 id sign a hitman to take out nathan blake, 45865 while he's at it he may as well take out Gemmill, Pressman and a few others too!
TrickyTrev Posted 11 December 2004 Posted 11 December 2004 I hope in 2 seasons we have an entirely new squad except Canero, Stearman, Williams, Tiatto and Taylor. The rest can go, so one signing isn't going to be enough.
