Weso overated

I'm not saying I don't like Wesolowski as a player but I do think is is extremely overated. Yes he's a decent young player but he's not that special. Everyone goes on about him like he's amazing and I don't agree with this

He's not exactly had a decent chance to show his worth.

He's only ever made about 3 consecutive starts, and he's not made all that many starts/appearances in total anyway.

You can hardly discredit him on the back of almost no appearances, he's not done anything so wrong as to justify that.

Whether he's overrated, underrated, or he can live up to the hype won't be proven until he's had a decent chance of showing us all what he can do.

I still think he'll prove to be a very useful player for us in due course.

I don't know if you've ever been a professional footballer and then broken your leg and had to go through the physical and mental turmoil of recuperating.

Imagine then what it's like to have the same problem for a second time within months and to have the thought go through you that your career could be over and almost certainly would be over if it happened again.

And for all this to happen while you were a teenager.

Not special?. This is the young fella whose prayed for appearance last season coincided with a run of results which saved us from the ignominy of relegation. The same results which earned Kelly the reward of a managership he never expected.

I said in the summer we'd have to be doubly careful with Weso and not to rush things with him too much. It was obvious the physchological blow would be every bit as difficult to mend as the leg.

That he's even got back into the team is special and with the help and support of you people, the fans, he can be even more special by regaining the confidence and then the form which did so bloody much for this club.

Special? He's the chirpiest lad I've ever seen around a dug-out on crutches. And he'll look special in his City shirt before long.

I can never imagine that man losing faith in a player who hurt for the cause anymore than Ferguson ha with Ole Gunnar.

I always thought just giving one figure for a match rating was boring ~ adding a second grade for chirpiness would certainly give those players with less talent something else to aim for on match days

Not so much was he over rated as is he the same player after the injuries?

It's a lot to come back from but I'm wondering if he is the same player he was why he hasn't forced his way into the team by now, particularly when we're struggling so much in the middle.

Hope I'm wrong and RK is just protecting him as I would love to see him break through and hit top form.

I think he's brilliant for overcoming all his injuries all I'm saying is that he's way overated as a player. I know he's young and he has lots of time to improve but I've not seen anything special YET unlike most people who see him as a special player.

We haven't seen Weso the player this season. There were just glimpses against Macclesfield. Have patience.

When he first broke through alot of people hyped him up because he was a decent young player from our own academy. Just think how good he would be now if he wasnt set back by those injuries, probably wouldnt be here anyway.

I think most people agree that he punched above his weight last season, and he will recover fully from his injuries sooner or later and come back just as good. In due course he will become one of our must-haves.

The last 'Weso aint the saviour' post, if I'm not mistaken, aimed primarily at Ric Flair's signature.

Trouble is we've not really got anywhere else to play him and rebuild his confidence. He's not helped much in central midfield which is another reason we so miss Gudjonsson.

I'd be tempted to play him on the right wing in an away game. He may be no right winger but for all that Hughes or Low give us, it'd be a bonus if he managed anything constructive.

Agree with most, he has alot of potential, but he still has to overcome his injury, some players never fully recover but given time I hope he will live upto my expectations....patience is the key!!!

Yet as with other players from the youth set up he has been hyped up to the eyeballs from his performances at a lower level - not from an extended run in the first team.

I think if people were less vociferous about the world beating talents of Dawson, Petrescu, Wright, Porter Gradel, Weslowski, King etc etc etc, threads like this would have no place.

For my money, he looks a decent prospect and after spending an evening chatting to him at the end of last season I would say that his head is definitely screwed on the right way. However, lets let him develop at his pace and not credit him for our survival in the division last term and Rob's new found employment. That's just the sort of bigging up he doesn't need (or deserve).
