cisono Posted 17 October 2006 Share Posted 17 October 2006 Awesome result, regardless of how shit Leeds are. Don't care. We never win these sort of games. Well we did tonight. Thracian Posted 17 October 2006 Share Posted 17 October 2006 I think Kelly deserves congratulating for taking the game to Leeds from the start and, more important, not sitting on the goal but having the faith to continuing pressing for a second. Hume and Hammond obviously worked brilliantly to conjure up a succession of chances and help Leicester score another two goals making five in two matches. Often defenders on Championship teams are not Premiership players cos they lack a bit of pace and people like Hammond and Hume show that problem up. Danny Tiatto deserves congratulations for smashing in his first goal for 15 months and doing so with the sort of attitude which shows we mean business. Almost no matter how well you're playing there comes a crucial moment at the other end and Richard Stearman , after his winning goal on Saturday, deserves enormous credit for a brilliant double save on City's goalline which prevented Leeds getting a goal than would have given them an undeserved lift. Congratulations to Ian Hume for his fifth goal of the season, to Low for his assist and to McAuley/Kisnorbo for staying so solid at the back at what is always an intimidating place no matter how poor the present Leeds team seems to be. Finally back to Kelly. Virtually the perfect day to him but why, why, why, bring Sylla and Maybury on so close to the end and risk disrupting the team and ruining so much good work?. Ah, so what. We won and you cannot change that. Elland Road?. A crumbling citadel these days.
Head Honcho Posted 17 October 2006 Share Posted 17 October 2006 Against better opposition we would have regretted all those missed chances, we need to be taking those away from home. But anyway, doesn't it feel great to actually win away from home for once? A third win on the trot Saturday will do nicely and set us up to take on the Villa I think Rowett summed it up when he said "we were winning the second balls" This is what we've been lacking for ages so hopefully it will help us turn the corner!
