Guest Gist Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 It's going to take a lot for them to get out of this now and I can't see them doing it
Simi Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 I still have a sneeky feeling they will get away but they really are not picking up any results GOING DOWN GOING DOWN GOING DOWN
MC Prussian Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Looking very bleak at the moment... 12 games to go... Last place in the league... Desperate fans... Deluded manager... Overpaid players... LEEDS ARE GOING DOWN!
Simi Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Derby vs Leeds last game of the season. Derby need a point to go up. Leeds need a point to stay up. Who do you choose ?
Leonisco Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Has everyone seen the new Leeds kit? Brilliant! Can't wait till the game on the 13th. Will be so sweet when we beat them.
Leonisco Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 Derby vs Leeds last game of the season. Derby need a point to go up. Leeds need a point to stay up. Who do you choose ? Definitely Derby, cos they'll do a Sunderland and come straight back down!
Simi Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 I suppose I'd like to see Derby if anyone then. Because it would be great to see Leeds in league 1. It really would.
Geo V Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 I cant wait for us to play Leeds at the new Filbo. I bet its the best atmosphere of the season as we send the dirty little pixie down.
Daggers Posted 25 February 2007 Author Posted 25 February 2007 Stop paying your bloody income tax, tax-payers Taxpayers boost Leeds Utd coffers Leeds United no longer receives post-relegation financial help Leeds United Football Club is to receive more than £33,000 of taxpayers' money this year to boost its finances. The club, which is currently bottom of the Championship, has been granted "hardship relief" against its business rates by the city council. It applied for help as it no longer received "parachute payments" given to clubs relegated from the Premiership. The city council said it granted rate relief worth £33,625 because of the club's importance to the community. The Elland Road business will benefit from a total business rate relief of £134,000 in 2006/2007 - the maximum allowed under European Union state aid regulations. The relief is 75%-funded by central government and 25% by Leeds City Council, which equates to £33,625. Leeds United chief executive Shaun Harvey said: "The club made the application as we no longer benefit from a parachute payment having been outside the Premiership for three seasons while still carrying the financial burden from those days. "The club still has to make payments to a number of players who have not played for the club since it was relegated. "Our application was approved on its individual merits based on the same criteria as many other businesses in the city who benefit from this type of relief."
Daggers Posted 25 February 2007 Author Posted 25 February 2007 Oh...and let's not forget... Wolves 1-0 Leeds Basement side Leeds were dealt another blow to their survival hopes with defeat to promotion-chasing Wolves.
Flynny Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 Southend and Leeds looking a bit adrift now. 4 points is hardly insurrmountable, though. It will be out of the current bottom 6 now though. Norwich aren't going to lose both of their games in hand, and that should put them safe. Ipwich don't look like getting dragged in either.
Daggers Posted 25 February 2007 Author Posted 25 February 2007 Southend and Leeds looking a bit adrift now. 4 points is hardly insurrmountable, though. Leeds bemoan their luck in front of goal, and cite that ending the blight will signify an upturn...but they continue to conceed and that will be enough to send them down...to even smaller attendances, with Championship salaries and every League One team raising their game when they visit Elland Road. Bwahahahahahahaha
Wezleylowski Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 i hope the dirty yorkshiremen go down too dagenham
Nath Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 lets just hope leeds loose all their matches, including against us, and lets hope southend bag a few wins, apart from next week... for obvious reasons

Bwahahahahahahaha   This sounds brilliant. I'd love to see Leeds relegated from this league. It'd give me a bit of happiness from a largely unhappy/inconsistent season. And it'd be extra special if it was us that sent them down! Does anybody know whether it will be possible for us to confirm their relegation this season?!

lcfc_jme Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 No mate, we play them in 3 games time and they're only 4 points from relegation. Is that all?!? I thought it was much further away than that??
Simi Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 Is that all?!? I thought it was much further away than that?? It's our next home game to. Ages away I thought aswell. . They have Luton next.
Glen_lcfc Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 They will lose against Luton as Luton have to win somewhere soon. I dint realise it was our next home game, 16 days away tho!
MC Prussian Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 A wonderful quote from jackcraz10 on 606: "I think that the Leeds fans should get behind Dennis Wise he will be the man that saves our club. His no nonsense approach will start to motivate the players if not the this season but next. The players he will get in wont want large amounts of cash and hopefully the defence will tighten up." (Of course, we don't know better)
lookwhaticando Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 P. Dwarf isn't a motivator... he's a fcuking thug! Note: another Leeds discussion as the pick of the Championship 606 articles again today. You'd think they were the only team in the division they get so much 606 coverage. <_<
lcfc_jme Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Taken from the 606 debate about Leeds "going down" United: comment by RoCkeee posted 1 Hour Ago I cant see any improvement in the last 4 months. I honestly dont believe we would be bottom of the table if Blackwell had stayed in. Wise (despite his smug confidence in himself) just isnt good enough. Why a club as big as Leeds United, when in the worst position the club has ever been in and facing relegation to League One decided to bring in a manager with 5 months managerial experience I will never know. But they did, and now we are going down. People just have to accept it now.  I love laughing at Leeds!
lookwhaticando Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 5 months managerial experience? Didn't he manage Millwall for quite some time?
lcfc_jme Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 5 months managerial experience? Didn't he manage Millwall for quite some time? Around about a year and a half.
