Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Nicholls was a player I wanted us to buy in the summer. Possibility now.
Brainy Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Wise lambasts wantaway Nicholls Nicholls has made just 15 appearances for Leeds Leeds manager Dennis Wise has hit out at club captain Kevin Nicholls after revealing the midfielder has asked to leave Elland Road and return to Luton. Nicholls joined Leeds from the Hatters in the summer in a £700,000 deal, and was made captain when Wise took over. However, he has now asked to leave and Wise admitted: "I'm gobsmacked that he wants to go back to Luton. "I wasn't interested at all in letting him go but he has made his mind up. He feels he made a mistake joining us." Leeds are currently bottom of the Championship and five points adrift of safety - and Luton who lie in 20th place. And Wise added: "I'm very disappointed in him, they're a team fighting us for relegation. I asked whether it was me and Gus that was the problem, he said 'no'. We want our money back, simple as that - do they think I'm mad? Dennis Wise "He came to see me on Thursday but I had already had a phone call from Mike Newell on Wednesday asking me if I was interested in letting Kevin go. "I'm very disappointed at the way I've found out. It takes Mike to ring me. "He was the captain of this football club and you expect him to dig in like the rest and get us out of this mess and not jack it in. This really, really disappoints me and this is just some of the things you have to put up with." Nicholls has made just 15 appearances for Leeds after suffering with a knee ligament injury earlier in the season. When asked if Nicholls had played his last game for Leeds, Wise added: "We'll have to wait and see. "What do you say to that? I told him I had to accept his decision and told him he wouldn't be captain and wouldn't be involved in the game this Saturday. "He actually wanted to go straightaway. To go to Luton to try to help them and I can't understand it. "We want our money back, simple as that. If he wants to go to Luton, give us our money back. "Do they think I'm mad, to go and loan him to Luton for the rest of the season? Is he seriously crazy, or what? "This is what you deal with, chaps. Good isn't it?" What a lovely personality.

Guest Gist Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 I love looking out for Leeds results now .... in fact for quite some time Don't Leeds play Luton next week as well? Imagine if he joined up with Luton straight away and he scored the winning goal next week

Wise seems pretty confident he wants his money back on him so it could take some time.

MC Prussian Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 How can this thread move down so fast? I miss news like this: Moore hits out at Leeds captain Leeds striker Ian Moore has criticised skipper Kevin Nicholls' timing in announcing he wants to leave the club, who are bottom of the Championship. Boss Dennis Wise revealed Nicholls' wish to return to Luton after the defeat by Sheffield Wednesday. Moore said: "If the captain isn't pulling in the same direction as the rest you're in massive trouble. "I've never known anything like it, as captain it's part of your job to rally the players together." Nicholls, 27, arrived at Leeds in the summer for £700,000 but knee injures have limited the midfielder to 15 first-team appearances this season. There are just so many things going wrong and it seems to be snowballing Leeds striker Ian Moore Manager Wise could force Nicholls, who has more than three years of his contract left, to see out the rest of the season in Leeds' reserves. Leeds are due to face fellow strugglers Luton on Saturday and Moore says the timing of Nicholls announcing he wants to leave could not be worse. Moore added: "The timing could not be any worse as Luton are down there with us. "I'm sure the fans won't be happy when they find out and I just can't understand his motives. "I thought he was settling in but obviously it's not right. "There are just so many things going wrong and it seems to be snowballing. "The club is going through some of the worst days it probably ever has done and things don't look good at the moment." lcfc_jme Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 I love Leeds being shite. And I also love them losing. Not to mention the fact that their players hate being there and want to leave. By doing things they know are totally unacceptable. Brilliant. And I will take great pleasure in mentioning it when they come to the Walkers next Wednesday as well.

davieG Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 And of the Pitch From Sky Leeds United shareholder Melvyn Levi has hit back at chairman Ken Bates' claims that he is hindering the club moving forward. The Whites are sinking to new lows on the pitch, but all is not well off the field as well with Leeds' supremo criticising ex-director Levi in the club's programme prior to last Saturday's loss to Sheffield Wednesday. Bates accused Levi of demanding £250,000 from the club along with 10 per cent of the company before hitting back by including his address in the programme. Levi has labelled the claims as 'rubbish' and is unhappy that Bates is attempting to blame other parties for the club's failings, rather than point the finger at himself. "As you can imagine, I was not very pleased to have my address put in to a programme which is basically Mr Bates' method of putting out what he wants the public to understand and doesn't ask anyone else for their comments," Levi told Sky Sports News. "Absolute rubbish," he continued after being asked if his demands were true. "All this that he writes is to deflect away from his management of Leeds United. "The true story is that when we sold the club to Bates, the Yorkshire consortium consisted of five individuals, we sold the club as a group. "Mr Bates, we met him for the first time on Monday and by Friday night Mr Bates had bought the club without doing any due diligence whatsoever. "I am banned from the ground, but I'm not banned if I pay. I don't go as a matter of principle. "I have one-and-a-half million pounds plus interest running in the club. I find it a little bit insulting that I should have to pay to go and see the club I've supported all of my life and on top of that I don't feel safe. "We're sick of it as fans that everyone else is getting blamed apart from Mr Bates."
