Mobile network UK coverage

I have Virgin and I have to lean out of our upstairs window, or stand on one leg on top of a bin holding a cod, in order to get a signal in our house...centre of Brum!

I've been told O2 have the best coverage, is this a lie?

Cis, do you get paid to advertise that phone site? Are they any cop?

You normally have to experiment. T-Mobile are usually good for me. :P

Your sig

There are different things in my signature.

The mobile phone links point to where I get my phones from (I normally have two, a personal one and a business one), usually with 80-100% cashback!

Vodoafone are the best, our directors live out in the sticks and both Orange and T mobile fail miserably, O2 is Ok, but Vodoafone seem to be the best!!

I though Virgin, use the same network as T-mobile???

I agree with the Singh. Vodafone all the way. My whole family have just changed over to it because its the only one that works in Great Glen.

I'll second that! Can barely get a signal in Oakham at all!

I have had Tmobile, Vodafone, 3 and Orange and rank them thus:

Vodafone - by far the best coverage and customer service

TMobile - bit patchy, but good customer service

3 - ok, bit iffy but getting better. Customer service in India.

Orange - Pants. Big, baggy with a wee stain on the front. Avoid.

Orange's customer services also seem to be based in India (sometimes very difficult to understand).

They also sometimes give incorrect info (for instance, I was told that calls to non-geographical numbers are

charged the same as landlines. It later became apparent the cust services operative had no idea

what non-geographical numbers were. When I tried to explain the concept to him, he accused me

of making things up and trying to confuse him!!! )

T-Mobile's customer services are better those of 3 and Orange.

I haven't tried Vodafone yet.

Yes. They 'rent' the required frequency 'space' from T Mobile.

This all started back in the day they were One2One.

There are only 4 real networks. Orange, 02 (previously BT Cellnet), T Mobile and Vodafone.

In my experience O2 is the best. I'm on T Mobile at the moment.

I'd personally avoid 'virtual' networks like Virgin.

See TPH's reply.

It seems to me that they have lower "priority" than real network

users, if you see what I mean.

Therefore, I also recommend avoiding virtual mobile networks.

The other half would agree with that! Complete shambles, he says.

I've been on Vodafone, O2 and Orange in the past. For me, O2 has had the best nationwide® coverage by far.

I've not tried T-Mobile, but a couple of people I know boast that their signal with them is usually pretty crap.

Only have had rare problems with T-Mobile's signal over the years.

I miss their customer services... (currently with 3 and, worse, Orange) :(
