Lineker's Left Foot Posted 4 November 2006 Posted 4 November 2006 Silly question people, but does anybody know a part in a particular song that is just amazing and 'makes you feel phenomenal'? I've titled it as an orgasmic piece of music and I was wondering what particular parts of a song does it for you? My favourite one for this is probably Time by Pink Floyd on Dark Side Of The Moon. It's the part where the last line of the last verse says "The time has gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say" and straight away the track slows down with a fantastic strum of a guitar. Excellent - which part of a song does everybody else like??
Nationwider Posted 4 November 2006 Posted 4 November 2006 When Ian Brown finally reaches the chorus in "I Am The Resurrection". The final crescendo of Josh Wink's "Higher State Of Consciousness". The riff and opening lines from "Back In Black".
Fez of Mahrez Posted 4 November 2006 Posted 4 November 2006 The opening strains of I Wanna Be Adored (props to the 'Wider for prompting that). The two rousing guitar crescendos in Sunrise by Pulp. The bit after the first KISSINGSEXINGCASIOPOKEYOUMEI bit in Over And Over by Hot Chip, where they break loose a little bit. Going to see Rodrigo y Gabriela live and standing watching in awe, particularly the ends of the songs where they are really going for it. Mylo doing Drop The Pressure live. Two and a half minutes into The Boss by James Brown - "heading for the turnaround... heading for the turnaround... told you so!" Karen O's voice. The O stands for orgasm. Well I have to get my orgasms somehow!
martyn Posted 4 November 2006 Posted 4 November 2006 About 5:43 into 'how to disappear completely' by Radiohead.
Milky Posted 4 November 2006 Posted 4 November 2006 sonnet - The verve. the chorus bit. brilliant stuff.
Filbert_Ross Posted 4 November 2006 Posted 4 November 2006 'the worlds still spinning round, we dont know why, why why why why....'
act smiley Posted 12 November 2006 Posted 12 November 2006 the little interlude in Adequate Seven - Head up High and the little bit in Forward Motion and that little bit on the bassline near the end of Gotta Stay Focused. When the bassline kicks in on Kent - Karleken Vantar and the bit where Den Doda Vinkeln becomes immense and lots of stuff by Muse. Oh, and when the drums go mental in Sigur Ros - Untitled 8 and at about 4:10 in staralfur.
MC Prussian Posted 12 November 2006 Posted 12 November 2006 Radiohead - Lucky The ending bit always gets me.
MC Prussian Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Dispatch - Passerby It's a great song in itself, but the version on "All Points Bulletin" that they perform with Phil Keaggy on stage blows me away every single time. Same goes for Dispatch - Prince Of Spades On the same album.
moseeds Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 The opening riff by slash on Sweet Child 'O Mine of course!! Magic!!!!
Janx Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Opening riff of "owner of a lonely heart - yes" Opening countdown and first bars of "New Radicals - get what you give etc" A bit cringey, but great for baning the accelerator and watching the rev counter burn out!
Foxello Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Storm Coming by Gnarls Barkely always makes me feel weird.
Trumpet Posted 17 November 2006 Posted 17 November 2006 David Gray - This years love, the piano in the background
Finnegan Posted 17 November 2006 Posted 17 November 2006 Between about 7.27 and 10.01 of Godspeed You Black Emperor! - Moya. It's a long, slow, tantric orgasm. Specifically heightening about 8.27. Oh, and the moment Seiji screams "ROCK'N'ROLL LICENCE!" in the midst of Guitar Wolf's Jet Generation.. Also good.
