Ric Flair Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 According to today's Merc, Kenton, Johnson, Williams and Wesolowski are all still out injured. O'Grady is back though My team would be: Logan Stearman McAuley Kisnorbo © Nisse Sylla Hughes Tiatto Porter Hume Fryatt Subs: Welsh, Maybury, Henderson, O'Grady, Hammond

FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Seeing as Rab and J Low are the only other players available I don;t see that we have much choice?!! Possibly might go with: Logan Maybury McAuley Kisnorbo © Nisse Sylla Hughes Stearman Tiatto Hume Fryatt Subs: Henderson, Hammond, O'Grady, Welsh, Porter But personally im with the Nature Boy Whooooooooooo!!!
brookfox Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 How boring. Everyone agreeing, I mean. Not me, I'd go with... Douglas Kenton Nisse Stearman Tiatto Low Maybury Kisnorbo Hughes Hammond COG
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Not me, I'd go with... Douglas Kenton Nisse Stearman Tiatto Low Maybury Kisnorbo Hughes Hammond COG That's more like it. Finally someone disagreeing. Seriously though, that's a Levein side ain't it? Look at it. He'd play that.
brookfox Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 That's more like it. Finally someone disagreeing. Seriously though, that's a Levein side ain't it? Look at it. He'd play that. I know, it scares (or should it be past tense?!) the bejesus out of me! It's not even as if the players haven't played in those positions.
Thracian Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Our usual two or three player voluntary handicap. Never in a month of Sunday's would I have Sylla in any team of mine - especially if it meant leaving Hammond out. How a bloke who hasn't either scored or even remotely threatened to score in 30-odd matches still gets a starting spot is totally beyond explanation to me. It's an awful side, no further on from Levein days and if it wins it will only prolong the moment when something has to be done to improve matters. For once in the considerable recent history of Leicester City I'd go for a genuine attacking team. I'd give Porter the creative midfielder role seeing as, Williams apart, he's the only such player in the club and everyone else has cocked up in the role anyway. I'd sooner have King anytime than Hughes but the latter has improved a bit and Kelly's going to go for experience but at least the team has eight potential scorers and no-one who is likely to stop the forward flow. Logan; Stearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Tiatto, Hammond, Hughes, Porter, Welsh; O'Grady, Hume. That said I'm so convinced it will be the usual suspects named at the start of the thread that I shall save my £30 again cos I'm truly sick of watching cautious football.
Wils Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Im boring aswel because i agree with Ric's team.
bold_fox Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 I know that we dont have the best of quality, when looking to play different or probing formations, but i like the idea of giving a player in the midfield a free role. I'd go with the below. .....................Logan;................. ...Stearman..McAuley.....Kisnorbo...Niiss .....................Tiatto................... Sylla,.................................Welsh ...................Hughes..................... ...............Fryatt, Hume............... I think this formation would work for us, and might give Highes the kick up the arse he needs.

On current form, Sylla deserves to play. In his last 4 appearances he's had 3 assists. Stick that up Hammond's muck pipe and smoke it.

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Sorry, Thracian I'll try again.. WTF! How could you ever dream of playing Porter centre mid??? You need someone to put their foot on the ball and be a calming influence. Porter is certainly not the answer to our midfield problems.

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Have you ever seen Porter play in midfield? Have you for Cities 1st team??
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Have you for Cities 1st team?? Please don't ask questions like that. You'll encourage him
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Please don't ask questions like that. You'll encourage him yeah but if he was a class central midfielder I think Kelly would have played him there by now, I mean we were so short Stears got a couple of games there....

MBK Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 I would be happy with that. Stearman instead of hughes, maybury in his place. Hughes sucks, why do you like him?
Thracian Posted 16 November 2006 Posted 16 November 2006 Have you for Cities 1st team?? So, as you've evaded the question, I'm assuming you've not. So how can you presume he's no good there?. Of course I've not seen him play there for City's first team because he never has been selected there - but that is arguably his best position - and considering, in Williams absence, we are singularly lacking anyone else who is remotely capable of doing that job, what possible case do you have for saying he cannot do it. You should perhaps ask Hammond and O'Grady if he's not capable because last time I saw the three together in the same team he was feeding them scoring chances like a mother feeding her infant its first solid food. As for Kelly I am 100% sure he well knows Porter's ability in midfield - and one of the reason's he's picked him is because he can track back safely into various positions. But, much more likely the reason he's been on the wing so far has been because we had no genuine alternative winger until Welsh's arrival (and Porter well knew the winger's role) and also to allow him to adjust to the pace an intensity of Championship football.
