Pennywise do some great Beach Boys covers, I like the Warhols Hells' Bells but it doesn't stand up to 'DC, I'm sorry! :D

The Stripes have also done three wonderful covers; Love Sick, Jolene and Maps which all make me sad! :(

That fell in love with a girl cover is terrible.

Can't agree, because ACDC doing Hells Bells has to be compared to Highway to Hell, which has to be one of the alltime best songs of alltime, "not 'alf mate!"

The Warhols covering Neil Young's Ohio is another tip top pick in the Bob's house around teatime. Oh yes, watch the little children rock :D

I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself is good too :)

Saves The Day's covers of Cheer by the Descendents and Clash City Rockers are both good IMO

The Dillinger Escape Plan's cover of Come To Daddy by Aphex Twin is incredible, if only for the fact they've managed to copy most of the insane elctronic bits from the original in guitar/bass/drum form. Plus Mike Patton is great on that whole EP :D

The one really bad cover version that springs to mind is that Gene Simmons version of Firestarter. I don't even like the Prodigy but I was offended by that song.

Saves the Day covering any punk song should envoke violence.

I've decided to adopt an irrational dislike and disdain for Saves The Day despite only ever hearing one song of theirs.

Viva la TPHolution.

lol

Like I said yesterday, I understand that Saves The Day are not a band that everyone likes.

I do think they're 'punk' enough to cover The Clash and The Descendents though, their first 2 records in particular were very much influenced by that school of punk rock (more so Descendents to be fair) and they were all kids who grew up on Gorilla Biscuits and Minor Threat. What's wrong with punk kids covering punk songs?

I think it's a shame people heard 'At Your Funeral' or anything after that and wrote them off, because they're a really good band!
