Koke Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Anyone else saw how Derby fans celebrated when they scored against Man Yoo, as if they had actually scored a last minute winner
WetFlannel Posted 15 December 2007 Posted 15 December 2007 All the empty seats at the JJB premiership attendances are abysmal now
Staf Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 All the empty seats at the JJB premiership attendances are abysmal now They are all rugby fans in Wigan
Father Ted Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 They are all rugby fans in Wigan And all the football fans can't be bothered to go because I have heard that Wigan are the most expensive premiership club for matchday tickets. (exc. the top four)

sdb Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 I thought Wigan tickets were really cheap??? Anyway they missed out yesterday.
WetFlannel Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 That woman wasn't on today oh yeah i didnt realize but i bet shes on tonight
Brainy Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 I dont see MOTD letting a woman commentate on games like these. It's teams like Fulham who get unfair treatment.
Jack Posted 16 December 2007 Posted 16 December 2007 Nah i can't see her being given games as such high profile as the ones today.
James. Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Bent with headphones on during the derby. Fool.
James. Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Bent with headphones on during the derby. Fool. Great second half though. I'm talking to myself.
WetFlannel Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Torres... i had my doubts when Liverpool signed him but WHAT A PLAYER
Dames Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Torres... i had my doubts when Liverpool signed him but WHAT A PLAYER He's just a natural, he scores goals for fun he always has and probably always will do.
WetFlannel Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 He's just a natural, he scores goals for fun he always has and probably always will do. i wasnt so sure as at Atletico Madrid he did use to miss an awful lot of sitters before grabbing a goal but he can do no wrong currently...
The Reverend Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 i wasnt so sure as at Atletico Madrid he did use to miss an awful lot of sitters before grabbing a goal but he can do no wrong currently... You're not wrong there, thats why i was sceptical, but he seems to be proving the doubters wrong, perhaps he is getting a looot more chances at Liverpool??? No but seriously, excellent player.
Dames Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 i wasnt so sure as at Atletico Madrid he did use to miss an awful lot of sitters before grabbing a goal but he can do no wrong currently... True, Probably because he was still quite young, decision making will and has come with experience and age. Still he did used to score for fun and some cracking goals too.
Simi Posted 23 December 2007 Author Posted 23 December 2007 I can't understand why anyone would doubt Torres if they watched him at Athletico. Some of the goals he used to score were outrageous. If it wasn't for Athletico messing Man Utd about a couple of years ago we'd now be watching Torres and Rooney up front which would be lethal in this division. The amount of chances he gets each game is phenomenal, he may miss a few chances but you always know he's going to score. A consistent goalscorer is something Liverpool lacked since Owen, if they could find some consistency in their results they'd be a threat in this league.

He scored some good goals, but whenever i saw him for Athletico (and Spain), i never thought his finishing was good enough for a top, top striker. And his end of season goal tallies never impressed me for such a highly rated striker

When they first signed him I thought he'd take a long time to settle and become a bit of a flop. He'd always seemed good but nothing special for Spain or Atletico, and like you say missed quite a few chances. But he's proved me wrong and done brilliantly. Fair play to him for settling so quick.
WetFlannel Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 I think the biggest doubt over Torres was the money involved
Ultra Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 Indeed. £26m appeared a shade extravagant. But if he wins the scousers a league title during his time with them, it'll be money well spent.
