bold_fox Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Who is the best play that you lot have seen play ? Both at the Walkers and Anywhere else. Also, what is the Best performance by a Player that you've seen ? The Best player would have to Ronaldinho when we had a firendly with Barca a few years ago.. The Best performance i think would have to be when we played Liverpool at home a few years ago. Patrick Berger was on the bench and came on at half time when Liverpool were down 2-1 i think ..... I remember being behind the goal when he scored two absolute scorchers.... He was everywhere... and thats just a memory that always sticks. . .
Durnerz Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Best player - although not on the night - Ronaldinho. Best performance - Charlton Away in the FA Cup or Leeds at home 4-0.
Janx Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Cantona at Old Trafford, could pick anyone out at 60 yds, burst through the midfield and score as well... awesome... Still waiting at the Walkers, but Collymores Hatrick at Filbo remains a highpoint for me.
Geo V Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 I`ve seen loads of football down the years but not many could ping a pass like Gary Mac used to for us all those years ago. Also Heskeys performance away to Spurs in the Premier when we won 2-1 I think was amazing as he bullied Sol Campbell all day. That was a major joy as I live in North London and split from my mates who went in the Spurs end and met them afterwards to see them crying!!! I`d say the best team performance Ive seen (not live unfortunately) was when Liverpool hammered Forest 5-0 in the cup years ago. Im sure Liverpool were wearing all white that day but anyway, they gave a masterful performance with Beardsley being outstanding. One of the best performances I have seen against Leicester was by West Ham when they were top of D1 and heading for promotion. I travelled with the Leicester faithful to Upton Park and was amazed at there passing and ball retention. Ian Bishop ran the midfield and it was one of a few games that despite losing, I could say "They were awesome" and it didnt hurt as much as it usually does! Best individual performance was by Rivaldo for Barcelona. They needed to beat Valencia (I think) to qualify for the champions league (last game of season) and he scored a hat-trick that included an amazing overhead kick from 20 yards.
Head Honcho Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 August 97 Bergkamp at Filbert St 3-3 draw Three goals in the last minute Weren't two of his goals voted in the top three of the season
Milky Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 craig hignett was having a blinder for Arsenal when he came on for us a couple of years ago, then , managed to pop up with the equaliser at the death. What a performance.

He's not bald Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 my winner of the award for "Crappest Celebration of a goal" Best match has to be Liverpool v Newcastle 1996 For the best player and this hurts like hell cuz I can't stand the geezer but it has to be Maradonna..a silly little prat but a genius footballer in his day. <_<

Strokes Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Best player: Klinsman Best performances : Shearer away at newcastle, City 3-1 up, and a 20minute hattrick by shearer finished us off.
Thracian Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 So difficult to choose between George Best, Eric Cantona, Johan Cruyff and Dennis Bergkamp for best player I've seen. David Gibson was probably best in a Leicester shirt with Frank Worthington a memorable second. Individually, Stan Collymore's hat-trick was special, George Best's six cup goals on a comeback at Northampton (where I lived at the time) remain a highlight but Bergkamp's performance in the 3-3 draw at Leicester was as good as, perhaps even better, than both - certainly for the drama.

Blimey we almost agree!
RowlattsFox Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 i seem to remember enrico chiesa having a blinder when we drew 3-3 with fiorentina at filbo. seen lots of good players, ronaldinhio has to be most high profile. as for best game i been to, i didnt actaully go to the 3-3 draw with arsenal so it would have to be the 4-4 draw at spurs, the highs and lows of that game were unbelievable.
Daggers Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Ronaldinho crushing Venezuela was special...watching Brasil was like viewing a display by the Harlem Globetrotters. I am reminded of that match most times I watch Kelly's flowing tactics in practice
Leonisco Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Not THE best player I've seen, but Graham Kavanagh's central midfield performance for Wigan against us the year they went up was an absolute masterclass.
Ultra Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 The best team performance I've seen against us was when Man Utd beat us 6-2 at Filbo during their 98-99 treble season. Best individual display? Shearer and Bergkamp deserve a mention but the top one must be Peter Shilton for Forest against us in 80-81. We battered them that day and yet his string of incredible saves allowed the scum (European Champions at the time ) to sneak away with a 1-1 draw.
DB11 Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Well this may sound weird but the best team performance (by City) I've seen at the Walkers (admittedly I haven't followed them for very long) would have to be against Fulham recently. They were much up for it and definitely didn't look like a struggling Champ. side, more of an established Premiership club
Joe. Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 This season, Logan's against Birmingham was stunning. He was absolutely superb all game long, saving virtually everything that came his way. That performance will stick in the memory for a while.

shen Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 What about THAT performance by the one and only MDV last season against Spurs?
