Let's hope he's back fit and firing for the world cup because he really is our only chance of winning anything. oh, and we lost by 8 wickets

WTF was he swinging at? His timing was awful and he only has himself to blame ....maybe he should take up rounders

His timing was awful and he only has himself to blame ....maybe he should take up rounders KP is one of the best ODI batsmen in the world Prior to the game in Melbourne, Pietersen had scored 1,500 runs in 41 one-day games at an average of 55, and with a strike rate of 95 per 100 balls. plus he got 82 from 91 balls today, and was only swinging because it was getting towards the end of the innings. plus of course that shot had already picked him up 3 sixes in the innings. you're not a cricket fan are you?

Well I have/had a Glamorgan Season Ticket so you may be right It's ok throwing statistics around but you can't defend Batting like that! I don't know whether you've seen it yet but it was a schoolboy error and he's paid the price for it! I suspect Boiks is still picking himself up of the floor after watching that.

Anderson is $hite , should have his central contract cancelled and should never be near the England set up again. Ditto Read and Jones (they're toast anyway) Ditto Joyce. (Who the f**k decided he could cut it at international level) Ditto Lewis. OK he can hit the cut bit when he bowls but his ground fielding is marginally better than my 5 year olds and he can't bat Ditto Mahmood. What a fu***ng plank- useless at all disciplines in the game Whilst we're on the subject , if the Australians want us to send teams to play them any chance they can get umpires with a passing acquaintance with the laws of cricket.?If you don't make contact with the ball with that wooden thing -you're not supposed to be given out caught and if the ball brushes your pad on its way to the gap between leg slip and W/K you can't be LBW . I reckon strauss was out legitimitely 0nce for every three dismissals in the book. Result England are all out once 7 wickets have fallen whereas Australia need to be dismissed 1.33 times per wicket.The umpire who gave Dalrymple out today (Howell) watched him walk off and stood shrugging his shoulders as if to say "where's he going?" Good question he would still be batting if you hadn't sawn him off you myopic div Australia are shedloads better than us in all aspects of the game and the result would in all likelihood be no different but the evidence of this series is that someone is taking the p**s on the basis that as Brits we're used to losing and should be above complaining.

I think its about time we tried something different. Maybe sling one of the bowlers up the order to pinch-hit. Whats the deal with that wicket-keeper as well?? I know he is Leicester but he cant catch a cold and cant bat!!

He is a capable keeper and imagine him coming in at 6 or 7 and smashing the tired bowlers around! Im sick or seeing the South Africans try stuff (ie Pollock opening) and the Sri Lankans varying there batting order depending on how the game is going whilst England just sit there and pick most of the test team in the same positions and dont seem to have no real plans. Surely we can muster some sloggers???!!

We have too many players with tons of finesse and a crap temprements - KP is determined and bludgeons it around and is exactly what we need more of. We won't win an ODI now, I reckon. Not even against New Zealand.

He is probably our best batsman but really shouldn't throw the bat at balls he isn't going to get. It was the same in the Ashes where the majority of the top and middle order batsmen, for some unknown reason, always went after deliveries wide of off stump. Unsurprisingly, 9 times out of 10 the edge of the bat was found and Gilchrist or the slips gobbled it up.

However as they are umpires from other countries, south africa and india to be precise, I don't think you can say that it is Australia's fault for having the crap umpires. The ICC pick them, not John Buchanan and Ricky Ponting. Guess it is karma...Martyn got 3 crap decisions when you guys rolled us in England. Shame about Pietersen though..thoroughly enjoy watching him..he has some balls at least..oh yeah..and some ability. Hope he makes the world cup.

KP cracked a rib and is flying home. Hard to see where the runs are going to come from now. On the plus side, at least he should be fit for the World Cup
