What is the best car you have owned, it doesn't have to be a good car, just the fave and WHY... I have had many in fact my total list is Fiesta, Astra, Honda Crx, Mercs X 3, Bmws X5, Minis X3, Alfa, Jag, Micra, VW Passat, Polo. I think thats it!!! Anyway this is the fave.... HONDA CRX Mk2 1.6i VTEC Although over the last 10 years they have been adopted by a seedier customer, they truly were a terrific sporty number, 16V VTEC engine, revved off the counter chipped would get 180Bhp, Nippy as feck, brilliant sunroof, felt like a convertible, hugged the roads, loved it twisty and turny or flat out, fabulous handling.. keep fit steering, but flooring it made it turn... absolute brilliant car, NEVER let me down, paid 5K for it sold it 3 years later for 2K heavy on the insurance, expecially when a couple of "homies" knicked it, but I tell you what people loved it, every time me or the mrs were at petrol stations, young lads (mainly black and asian to be fair) used to ask how much to buy it... they have a tendancy to be thrashed to feck and "MAXX"ed up, but if you can find a decent one, that has FSH like mine was and was looked after, they go and go and go, Mine had 180K on the clock when I sold it and was still MINT!!! I had put 100K on the engine, went everywhere in it... especially up and down the M1 every other week! LOved that car Incidentally.. Its is Jezza Clarksons top 100 also.

The People's Hero Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 I've only owned a fiesta ghia 1.25. It's alright. Got air con and all that crap. Just not a very exciting car. Couple of years no claims, then I'm after an Alfa 147 (or even a larger one.. the 15x series perhaps).

My current squeeze is the BMW330ci, now that is a beast, probably not as hot interms of performace as your baby! Avant? estate right? suddenly got a load of luggage or kids mate?

Company pay the insurance so dont really need to worry about that. I've got about 4 years no claims. I'm only 23 so not been driving that long. Was very lucky to get the S4 to be honest. Got a new job and came as part of the package. Not planning to make any kids at the minute, i just love the avant and hopefully due for an upgrade in a couple of years. Also do a lot of extreme sports, surfing, kites, climding, kayaking etc. so would be practical... Performance of the avant is awesome to.

MY fav car was my second car, which was a Escort XR3i black colour, at the time it was the bees knees, I had the full RS Turbo kit on it, before you guys start I was only 19 at the time, I spent all my hard earned money working at Asda on it, at the time I thought it was well spend, the birds loved it!!!

I was 18 and owned a lowered VW Golf with tinted windows . It really was an eyesaw looking back but at the time (about 15/16 years ago), I thought It was the dogs knads! Trips to Southend pulling the local mingers was easy with that car

I adored my Cooper - maybe I should get another...it was a giggle a minute.

Loud and totally unrefined... but if you just want to go fast and like cheap plastic interiors... 172 is the way. I think the 182 is supposed to have a better built quality and be a bit less 'stripped out'. As for my test drives, we did a golf 32 thing, a 172, a 172cup, fiesta ST and focus ST. I've got to say, the Ford cars left me most impressed... although for standard road driving, the fiesta was just a bit too aggressive, keen and loud. I thought the Golf would have had it, but it left us both a bit cold really.

And my picture-painted customised 2-Litre Transit "Cuddles" with its electrically operated bar which served a double bed in the back. Cuddles had so many outside speakers it could be used for a disco in a park.

Matt Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 I dunno, Had 2 cars, both my favorite First Car was my Corsa which I loved because I could thrash the fook out of it and push it very far and it would take it, Yeah I fuked the clutch (But got it replaced for free on the warrenty) but it would take so much shit from my aggresive driving and still drove brilliant, I loved that. I owned that for just over a year and the only reason I got rid of it is because althought it was very fast for a 1L I was abit bored of it Second Car is my VW Polo..Just because it's an almost new car, I feel good driving it, VW is a "status" type make of car, and its just a great car...Its a poorman's Golf in my eyes, but the Golf is next on my list of cars I think! (Although that'll be a few years just because of the fact I need to keep my Polo for a few more years yet)
