MC Prussian Posted 5 February 2007 Share Posted 5 February 2007 We don't get any penalties because we can't afford to pay the refs enough. Or let's say, nothing at all. We're still skint.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 5 February 2007 Author Share Posted 5 February 2007 I think it's down to a nationwide conspiracy to make us rubbish due to our dealings with administration several years back. Some despise us for that still. You're probably right... honestly !!
Head Honcho Posted 5 February 2007 Share Posted 5 February 2007 Maybe it's because you have to reach the opposition's penalty area instead of shooting from 30 yards or taking the ball wide and fooking it up!

Who would take them anyway. Don't think we have a single specialist penalty taker. Especially on some crap grass pitches in this league they'd be hard
OBO Posted 5 February 2007 Share Posted 5 February 2007 I think we probably stand even less chance of getting any penalties playing Horsfield up front. On Saturday it seemed to take 3 men just to get him off the ball sometimes. Even though it looked like he got fouled a couple of times (at least once in the area), he's so big and persistent he didn't go over and just kept on after the ball. Not the kind of bloke who just goes over anyway.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 5 February 2007 Author Share Posted 5 February 2007 I think having a front pairing of Cadamerteri and Horsfield along with Hume in attacking midfield, wouldn't be a nightmare - especially with Fryatt injured again. If we haven't got that creative midfielder, then maybe Hume could provide it in the attacking role with potentially Wesolowski and Hughes or Johnson partnering him in the centre of midfield. However, that means Levi might be left out??
Simi Posted 5 February 2007 Share Posted 5 February 2007 We don't have any players good at diving
filbertway Posted 5 February 2007 Share Posted 5 February 2007 The only time we get a penalty claim is from set pieces and refs ahrdly ever give peno's TO ANY TEAM, for holding in the box.
GO GADGET GO Posted 5 February 2007 Share Posted 5 February 2007 It does seem to go back a to the administration days, I know, but there are 10 outfield players (lcfc) making as many mistakes as the ref/linesmen. I remember the game against wimbledon when Dichov got 2 "dodgy" pens at the walkers, we never got a pen for the rest of the season, as the dons boss kicked up a stink, seems to have stuck since then. However Lutons freekick that led to the goal was dodgy I sat in the west stand andd it was right in front of me, also took in the wrong place. Poor defending though. Our defenders annoy me at times so much <_< . When the free kick was given away, there were two of our players surrounding a Luton player (who was crap anyway) with his back to goal. Why the hell do they feel the need to foul him? We are our own worst enemy most of the time.
potter3 Posted 5 February 2007 Share Posted 5 February 2007 Has anyone seen the pic in the Merc of when we had a penalty shout when they're player was hoolding McAuley right near the end of the game? His arms are all over him, round his neck.

Has anyone noticed that when we play with pace other teams struggle with us, Fulham, Villa the first 20 mins and the last 4 against Luton, the rest of the time... well they dont seem to care.
