Ric Flair Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 MILAN WILL BOOST CITY SQUAD BY 'NEXT WEEK' WWW.THEBLUEARMY.CO.UK 10:15 - 16 February 2007 Milan Mandaric has revealed he wants to sign "two or three senior players" within the next week. Just three days after completing his takeover of Leicester City, the business tycoon admitted he hopes to bring the players in before next weekend's home match against West Bromwich Albion. Mandaric, who will spend £9million in his first 15 months in charge, reveals his plans in an exclusive full-length interview in this weekend's Sporting Blue. He is keen to boost manager Robert Kelly's fight to stay in the Championship before going for the big push to the Premier League next year. Mandaric said: "I think he (Kelly) needs two or three senior players immediately - before the West Brom game. Then we look to next season." City have been linked with Portsmouth's Bulgarian striker Svetoslav Todorov, with Pompey manager Harry Redknapp hinting the 28-year-old could be on his way to the Walkers Stadium. But Kelly said: "They are rumours. I think because of Milan Mandaric's history, and where he is from, you are going to get a lot of that. "The right thing to do and the right way to conduct ourselves is to do it in the correct channels." Meanwhile, stand-in skipper Patrick Kisnorbo said the players were focused on realising Mandaric's Premiership promotion plan. Mandaric has declared he would consider himself a failure if City were not back playing top-flight football within the next three years. He visited the training ground earlier in the week to impress his goal on the players. And Kisnorbo said: "He said what his intentions were, that we should play in the Premiership. He said he believes in us and we are winners like him. "We want to get to the top, and with his help we can do it." Kisnorbo is set to lead the side against Coventry at the Walkers tomorrow for the first game of the Mandaric era. The defender should again take the captain's armband as Paddy McCarthy's dislocated shoulder is likely to rule him out for the rest of the season. Kisnorbo said: "Paddy will be a big miss on the pitch and off it. "He is a great leader, a great guy and we are really going to miss him. Hopefully he can return soon. "It's a fantastic honour for me to be captain of the team, but I don't really look at it as something for myself. "We have 11 captains out there. I am just the one that wears the armband. "Coventry is a big derby. There's always a bit more riding on the game but we are going into it full of confidence." City are predicting a 25,000-plus crowd for the game at the Walkers which will see Mandaric introduced to the fans.
Master Fox Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 who do we think the three will be then ? You of all people should know Bold fox? You've lost the edge....
shen Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 who do we think the three will be then ? Maybe it'll only be two.. Todorov is one, and I'm guessing Hughes is another. Don't know who the third one would be.
Ric Flair Posted 16 February 2007 Author Posted 16 February 2007 If I was predictable i'd say: Todorov, Hughes and O'Brien. But I think there could be a signing that isn't from Pompey. Patrick Berger is another player who could be in our remit. Ex Pompey player, plus he's now under O'Neill who would loan us a player or two if need be.
bold_fox Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 You of all people should know Bold fox? You've lost the edge.... Due to the takeover i've been phased out.....

Dudek/Taylor at Villa...GK O'brien/* Ramage at NEW Hartson/TODDY/Robbie Blake FWD Holland/Hughes/Berger/Hendrie MD. Any of them Just get someone that can give us that extra zizzz Stuart Taylor did great when he was here. If we could get him back in that would be great. Tall keeper who can kick and a good shot stopper.

Simi Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 todorov or aliadere hughes or holland o'brien Alliadiare has been playing constantly for Arsenal lately in all the cups and league sometimes so I doubt we have any chance of getting him.
Onion Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 im so glad this has finally happend to us, if Milan wasn't here it'd be years before we could afford a player over the value of 2m, not saying we're going to get players like that but you know what I mean.
Geo V Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 Alliadiare has been playing constantly for Arsenal lately in all the cups and league sometimes so I doubt we have any chance of getting him. I think he is OOC in the summer and Wenger is quoted as saying he wants to keep him and he is trying to prove a point by involving him more in first team affairs. He is looking like a quality footballer at the moment. I think we will get Todorov and then I hope we can add players from the following outcasts...Andy Cole, Kieran Richardson, Alan Smith, Danny Murphy, Paul Stalteri (Spurs..decent right-back although his eyebrows are a little frightening), J`Loyd Samuel, James Vaughan, Collins John Collins John Collins John, Chris Riggott, Malcom Christie, Bobby Charlton, Bebeto and Tim Henman.
Fox in a Box Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 Some alright suggestions, but most of them wouldn't come here, can't come here, or are injured. money talks manwell, if you were offered double your money to work elsewhere would you?

Joan collins?
MC Prussian Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 Why are there still people mentioning "Matt Holland" and "Leicester City" in the same sentence? The guy's too old, playing a very bad season so far and bound to Charlton. Todorov, O'Brien and Christie (all on loan) would be alright.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 money talks manwell, if you were offered double your money to work elsewhere would you? Yes but we can't do that until the end of the season though can we mate? , even then I doubt Milan Madaric will be offering the Likes of Lee Hendrie and Peter Ramage double what they're already on.
Geo V Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 Joan collins? Yeah she`ll do as she could scare opponents with ease! BTW I still havent recovered from Fulham having a player called John Collins and when he left a Collins John turned up to confuse me. If we ever buy the Jamaican International Claridge Steve I will give up watching football. I swear to cod.
Milky Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...p;channel=& Skysports.com understands a number of Championship clubs are trailing Bury's Marc Pugh. The talented midfielder has enjoyed a fine season at Bury with a number of eye-catching performances. Pugh, whose current deal expires in the summer, has turned down a new contract at the club. The news has alerted a number of clubs who could make a move for the 19-year-old at the end of the season. Leicester and Colchester have been credited with an interest in Pugh, but there is also thought to several other Championship sides keeping tabs on the player. Pugh is believed to be looking to keep his options open before making a decision on his future at the end of the current campaign. Not an experienced old player as touted by mandaric. This is more of a summer move.
