Leonisco Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Here's what Rob had to say: Kelly Keeps His Feet On The Ground
Leicester Lass Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Sounds good. Feed the Horse, Feed the Horse, Feed the Horse and he will score, Feed the Horse and he will score!!! Did you hear KilworthFox trying to get 'Milan is a Serbian..' going? I joined it but there was only about 3 of us singing it
Leonisco Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Did you hear KilworthFox trying to get 'Milan is a Serbian..' going? I joined it but there was only about 3 of us singing it No I didn't, I was on row CC so too far away really.
dandannieldanok Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Here's what Rob had to say: Kelly Keeps His Feet On The Ground Why doesn't he just get carried away, although I'm no statto, I bet this is our biggest winning margin in the league so far. Up the City!
Webbo Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Good performance first half but shite second. it's always the same when you get a big lead in the first half.
Thracian Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 The thing I like so far about Hoarsfield and Yeates is what I like so much about Porter ... effect. With players in attacking situations it isn't about what mistakes they make its about what they eventually achieve. Horsfield has a presence and brings people around him into the game giving the attack more balance. Ironically it showed particularly with Hume today who was so unlucky not to get a goal with three or four excellent efforts. Yeates asks questions all the time. Sure, some bad crosses, indifferent passes, gets tackled etc but suddenly we're varying our point of attack, trying different corners, hitting high final passes, then low ones - all much harder to deal with compared with the laboured and predictable days past incumbents. Encouraging. But lets not pretend this was anything but a bloody good result. What went wrong second half was that the close through the team support, the passing and continuious moving that was so in evidence for the first 45 minutes stopped. Some players, particularly Johnson weren't able to continue driving forwards. I noticed poarticular how our trouble invariably started when a midfielder tried to flight a ball from the back half of the field instead of simply passing to feet and moving. A sure sign that they didn't have the wind for the pass and move bit. It could have cost us. No-one will want to admit it but coventry had some bloody good chances in that game second half and we could easily have conceded three. Ironically, the only time the pressure was easily relieved was when Porter drifted to right midfield and did just what was necessary. Short, sharp passes to feet, retain possession, wait for a gap. But even he looked knackered at the finish.
MC Prussian Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Hume needs some rest, a good talking to or being put in an attacking midfield position. He's useless as a striker and wastes too many chances...
Leonisco Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 And here's what Milan had to say: Mandaric Thrilled With City Show
Barry Trotter Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Hume needs some rest, a good talking to or being put in an attacking midfield position. He's useless as a striker and wastes too many chances... Who would you play in his position?
mitchofox Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Just got in. Quality in the first half shame we could not carry all that momentum into the second half but it was a great result. they did all the hard work in the first half excellent performance
MC Prussian Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Who would you play in his position? Todorov - starting next weekend.
Stevosevic Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Burnley havnt won in 12 games, this is a great chance to push on now. especially as RK is under pressure to win games, there is no reason for him to sit back and be happy with a draw.
Joe. Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Superb win today. Managed to silence certain covscum who couldn't even pay respects for a few seconds without acting like complete idiots. We were explosive in the first half an hour! Couldn't have asked for anymore really. Even AJ had an excellent game. Jarrett however was our only bad performer on the day which was unlucky for him because he was pretty good against Ipswich last week. The whole of the back four + Henderson were brilliant today, couldn't have been better imo. Only moan I have was Kelly bringing on Stearman when there was Elvis and Cadamarteri to use instead Overall, fantastic, well done lads  Oh and another point, virtually all teams below us lost (including Leeds), Forest and Derby too... What a day!

Don't forget we went up 3 places and are 8 points away from the relegation zone and 16 points from the play-offs (we could possibly make it, not impossible) and stearman came close to making it 4-0 when he got brought on too. And if we beat Burnley we could go 11th if other results go our way!!

Lineker's Left Foot Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Just got home from the game - absolutely brilliant. We were excellent first half, okay second half weren't so great but it didn't need to be. Atmosphere in N block was immense, my voice is totally gone but so worth it taking the piss out of the Cov fans. And to cap it all Derby lost, Forest lost and Leeds lost. Absolutely perfect day. Yes second half not so good, but so what, we just kept calm and ensured that we didn't concede - nay problem !!!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 The dream Yes definitely a dream if we're gonna beat Burnley !! Can we beat them for once please???
mitchofox Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Yes definitely a dream if we're gonna beat Burnley !! Can we beat them for once please??? we can beat anyone on our dayup milans blue army
Joe. Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 It's hard not to notice how much of a difference these new signings have made. For that I applaud Rob Kelly. I have said before he has been a bit unlucky not havinmg any money at all and he's showing he can bring in dcent players when he has the opportunities.
LE8Blue Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 hi just wondering if n block will be doing the same as 2day at the qpr game on 7th march

I agree, nice to have a bit of competition with the forwards for places.
lildave3 Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Great performance first half, one of the best i've seen in years. I can't believe we actually won 3-0, when was the last time we won by 3 goals? Against Cov in Levein's first match? And to top it all, N block was quality. Well done Rob Kelly, well done players, well done N block
Simi Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Jarret looks like he could become a very good player for us. He didn't stop running all game and I thought he was very unlucky in the first few moments he could of scored but got the ball stuck under him. Hopefully he can keep this up and keep Hughes out of the team. Not quite sure why Porter got pushed inside towards the end and Jarret went wide. Maybe something to do with their big right back.
Fox63 Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Don't forget we went up 3 places and are 8 points away from the relegation zone and 16 points from the play-offs (we could possibly make it, not impossible) fook me!! Two wins and a draw against piss poor opposition and some people are getting ideas above their station. Playoffs..don't make me laugh!
