MBK Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Waste of time really. We know what we're getting. Last time round we won two games in a row, I suggested we needed a change. Everyone enjoyed mauling me. We got a draw against an average Cardiff. My Team Henderson Maybury-McAuley-Kisnorbo-Nisse Cadamertari-Tiatto-Jarrett-Porter Hume-Horsefield Logan, Weso, Stearman, Kenton, Glombard
Jay Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 same team has won 2 on the bounce now and not conceded see no reason whatsoever to change anything

I though of Horsefield but think of who exactly can play. A foot injury is dangerous, and after knee is the worst at recurrent injury. Hammond and Hume I don't mind.

My Team Henderson Maybury-McAuley-Kisnorbo-Nisse Cadamertari-Tiatto-Jarrett-Porter Hume-Horsefield Logan, Weso, Stearman, Kenton, Glombard How can you justify dropping Johnson and Yeates ! If anyone should be dropped following the weekend i think it should be Porter.... Looks like he needs a rest, plus we've got a few othe options in that area...
Mort Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Give Porter and the Horse a rest... then again are chances against Burnley are better than against WestBrom so perhaps play the Horse on Tuesday and rest him on the bench at the wk? Either way give Glombard his chance on the left and, if we rest Horsefield play Fryatt up front with Hume (if he's fit)... beyond that retain the same team as Saturday.

You have a good point but I'd rather stick with the same line-up. If anything drop Hume for Fryatt.
City_4_Life Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Dont fix it if it aint broke. Unless any of the players are broke/injured.
Simi Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Dont fix it if it aint broke. Unless any of the players are broke/injured. Exactly what needed to be said.
Glen_lcfc Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Same... pointless thread - theres no discussion here , we need a discussion, wheres the discussion?
Flynny Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Same team, different bench. The old guys will be knackered. Johnson and Horsfield will probably come off about the 60 minute mark for Tiatto/Weso/Hughes (I'd go for Tiatto myself, if fit) and Cadmarteri/Fryatt.
Mikey Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 GK Henderson DR Maybury DL Nisse DC Kisnorbo © DC Mcauley LM Porter RM Yeates CM/DM Jarrett or Jonson CM/AM Hume ST The Horse ST Fryatt (if fit) Subs: Logan,Kenton, Cadamarteri (bring on for the horse), Hammond, Glombard/Tiatto If fryatt is not fit then the same team that beat the Covscum.
Thracian Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 How can you justify dropping Johnson and Yeates ! If anyone should be dropped following the weekend i think it should be Porter.... Looks like he needs a rest, plus we've got a few othe options in that area... Cos Johnson and Yeates played one half really. We lost midfield second half til Porter came back to help out and he shouldn't have had to do it. It's one thing him helping Nils and the left-side but having to hold Johnson's hand on the right is overload. And another thing. If anyone thinks Johnson and Jarrett are the creative answer to our midfield problems, forget it. They're not. I'll save comment on Jarrett but Johnson - like Kisnorbo when he used to play midfield - should be under strict instructions to pass the ball on the floor and no further than 20 yards with two touches maximum. As soon as he goes beyond that he gives possession away and invites pressure. Yes he is playing better than before. Hard to imagine anything else happening. But one half doesn't constitute a performance. Just a respectable effort. Why any manager would rest the guy who created one goal directly, helped with another and laid on our best two not taken chances as well I can't imagine. Unless you want to go without creativity altogether. Mind you it is Burnley so I don't suppose anyone will notice.
Flynny Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 I thought Yeates and Porter both looked better when they switched flanks. Yeates seems to have a better left foot on him than Porter. To be honest, Porter looked best of all when he drifted inside and was in a central position. I know you said he can play there, Thrac, would be interesting to see if they try it.
Nationwider Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 We haven't scored against Burnley in any of our last 5 games against them, so if we hit the net, I'll conceed that anything is possible under Milan Mandaric's tenure... You can't really drop anyone unless they're cream-crackered - not after those two results. Having said that, if there's any chance of fitting AJ in Tiatto's luggage this summer, we should take it.... if he's the future, then I'm an orange.
