Geo V Posted 25 February 2007 Share Posted 25 February 2007 McAuley. Paddy Macs injury has thrust him into a first team slot at centre-back and he is forming what could be our first choice CB pairing for next season with Kisnorbo (although RK will probably bring back Paddy Mac as he is his love child). lookwhaticando Posted 25 February 2007 Share Posted 25 February 2007 Why does it say January for the poll title then? I don't usually pay attention to the poll title when the thread's point of discussion is so obvious. McAuley. Paddy Macs injury has thrust him into a first team slot at centre-back and he is forming what could be our first choice CB pairing for next season with Kisnorbo (although RK will probably bring back Paddy Mac as he is his love child). I will be rather disappointed if McCarthy somehow managed to walk back into the side in McAuley's place.

lookwhaticando Posted 25 February 2007 Share Posted 25 February 2007 GARETH McAULEY awesome month for him, awesome signing i must add to If he continues to cruise in this month's awards, he will jump ahead to 9 points - a hattrick of outright wins. If Kisnorbo finishes second this month (possible) then they will both have 9 points, but McAuley's superior outright win count will see him as number one. Interestingly, McAuley will have won three months in a row if he wins February. Now that's special. Running Totals Kisnorbo = 7 points - 1 outright win Hume = 6 points - 2 outright wins McAuley = 6 points - 2 outright wins Porter = 5 points Logan = 4 points - 1 outright win Kenton = 4 points Stearman = 1 point Fryatt = 1 point Williams = 1 point Low = 1 point Courtesy davieG. De Vries The King Posted 25 February 2007 Share Posted 25 February 2007 Horsefields made the difference this month, it's good having a strong defence but we've had that all season and not come away with the results but now we've got the big man up front we look like winning games! London_Fox Posted 27 February 2007 Share Posted 27 February 2007 Kisnorbo because it seems to me that he has organised the defence which has been so well. Clearly Gareth McAuley a VERY close second for another great month going forward and in defence.

Milky Posted 28 February 2007 Share Posted 28 February 2007 how can kisnorbo only have 9 votes. He holds the defence together, and without him we'd be in serious trouble. GM's goals have been crucial, but it was his fault for the luton goal when he was outjumped from the corner, and his marking was a bit shakey v burnley. I can understand GM being top, and he does deserve credit, but kisnorbo has been really solid and in no way deserves to potentially not pick up any points from this vote. Kisnorbo has suffered by being overshadowed by McAuley's non-stop scoring. He's also suffered from a split vote in second place... stiff competition from Horsfield (whose arrival coincided with an upturn in form) and Henderson who's had a great time of it in goal (vitally important when the defence loses itself for a minute). Had Henderson not stood out this month (nominated for the league keeper of the month shows that he must have stood out!) Kisnorbo would easily have got points on the board. Business as usual, really.
