Quality day, especially the Piper goal. But not as good as the Man U game a few games earlier.

All I can remember was Matt Piper and Teddy Sheringham (I think) scoring on that day.

Yeah Sheringham did score

I remember going on the pitch after the final whistle with my young son and picked up the divot that was caused during a penalty incident ( i think ) this divot is still growing in a pot on my patio and i do my groundsman's bit using scissors! :D

i was on holiday, it was the only home game i'd missed all season. it was also my dad's last game before he died. gutted.

I can remember i took a big chunk of the penalty spot at the end opposite the Kop not quite sure what it was called as i was only 10 at the time and had been to about 3 games in total by that time

Wasn't that the game Muzzy did his emotional lap of honour.

Indeed. He played in the promotion season the following year and then in the relegation season the following year

I was a matchday steward for the game. What a quality day! Sun, atmosphere and a rare City win. Still got the matchday programme, one of my prized possessions.

Yeh i was only nine at the time and I still have the programme :)

Was Matty Piper's goal a header or a shot. I seem to remember it being a good shot from outside the area but others tell me it was a header. Like I said, I was only nine then

Brilliant game. I can still remmerb it to this day :D:ph34r:
