Head Honcho Posted 8 March 2007 Author Posted 8 March 2007 yes i've heard they use ferrets and whippets to apprehend criminals instead of alsatians I remember when Richard Whiteley was hoodwinked by an undercover Ferret
Flynny Posted 8 March 2007 Posted 8 March 2007 Why do the press feel it necessary to portray this woman as a victim or to refer to her as a young black woman? Not read the rest of the thread, nor do I particularly intend to, but in this country, black skinned people are a small minority, and so its a distinguishing feature. So long as negative connotations aren't attached to it, like the moron behind me at Leicester's last game ("What the fook are you doing you black shiit!?') it's not racism. Just description.
Daggers Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 it's not racism. Just description. ...tell that to "Dave" Cameron
Flynny Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 ...tell that to "Dave" Cameron Saying being called a 'black shit' is a part of everyday army life is a bit nasty, however true it might be. Places like that, you're gonna be mauled for whatever differences you might have. It's not acceptable, but it's true. Dave just doesn't want to be seen as hardfaced, I guess. It's as much a fault of politics in general as the conservative party that he's had to sack him.
fullPHILLmydreams Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 If you see the video ... watch for running away from the copper up the stairs, trying to get away. I wish I could run like that when i'm drunk. Then there's the bit on the way back down when she swung for the copper, then she tried to escape again, pulling him down the stairs whilst he was trying to stop her running off. Just another money grabber looking for a law suit
Geo V Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 I don't care whether you're black, white or orange, if you break the law and cause a lot of trouble, you're gonna get a smack. I wish that was the case mate! In England, you go out on the beer and if you see Police in the street in the early hours you will usually see lads, many young, swearing in there faces without arrest. They have no fear of the police. I`d like to see them have zero tolerance like the do in the States because the officers of the law are respected out there whilst our coppers are to scared to arrest because of the paperwork they have to do. As for this incident, if someone is doing wrong there is nothing wrong in getting heavy handed. Im not suggesting that the coppers all turn all incidents into a remake of the Rodney King one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH-nal6PkQo but if you do wrong, be preapred for the consequences and this girl shouldnt start moaning if she got a bruise or two out of the incident.

"A small number of people in the army have been seen to use unfounded claims of racism as an excuse for poor discipline and going AWOL". There. Not so hard is it.
Suffolk_fox Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 When I stepped off the RAF bus into the Training camp all those years ago, the first person I saw was a female Irish Corporal - she shouted at me "C'mon, get off that bus you ginger ****!" Now is that racist cos of the colour of my hair (a strong indicator of Celtic or Viking decent, hence an insight into my 'race')? Like hell. I didn't take any offence to that, and certainly wouldn't have sued for damages. So a copper tackles a black single mother who has just committed criminal damage and is resisting arrest. Her fault, not his. Good to see Yorks Police haven't suspended him and are backing him up. I understand he has just been taken off 'public duty', prob for his own safety. This country.....

Not knowing too much about thte case, I can't remember her race being an issue, the issue raised was that the woman was being held down by 2 officers, and then being hit 5 times by one of the officers, and the question was, is this acceptable use of force?????? I saw the video and it was quite disturbing, firstly because it was a woman (sorry for being sexist) and secondly the force, especially in the punches used to nullify her. Does it take 5 full blown blows to an arm to make it dead, remember the officer did not pause within his punches to see if it had it's effect. The officer lay 5 continues punches and in quick fast!!! I believe police officers should use force to one protect themselves and secondly protect the public, and if I that what was required to do so, then so be it but for me, I believe the officer di not need to repeatedly punch her continiously on her arm, i'm sure a couple of punches would have been suffice, if not then another then another!!!! The officer had to make a split decision and did what he thought was best but there are always lessons to be learned!!! On the issue of colour, to many it's a sensitive issue, as being a minority, you are always labelled in a derigatory fashion and the colour is always labelled with tose remarks. I do believe there is too much sensitivity in colour and racial remarks they should always be taken in the context they are said, unfortunaltely there are too many people that either wish to bury it and there are those that will use it to evaluate something that probably wasn't there!!
Babylon Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 Don't get me started on this... I almost put my tv screen through the other night when some racial equality guy comes on bbc news 24 and says it's an english version of Rodney King!!!!! The guy was hitting her arm to get it off him, if you don't do what the policeman asks "get your hand off me" you should expect them to use force against you. Next time I wouldn't hit her... just pepper spray the fecker. Oh and the guy who released the footage, the eqality bloke I mentioned earlier... he is in court today because of a racialy motivated road rage incident. So much for racial equality... ****!!!
Babylon Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 Not knowing too much about thte case, I can't remember her race being an issue Yes it was... the guy who got hold of the footage and released it said it was an "English Rodney King".
Dr The Singh Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 Yes it was... the guy who got hold of the footage and released it said it was an "English Rodney King". That's just silly, some people are just simply foolish, have an underlying agenda or media attention hungry!!!
Phube Posted 9 March 2007 Posted 9 March 2007 PC Mulhall: she tried to grab handfulls of my genitals There's just something funny about this statement, I think he's bragging or something!!! Well it makes me feel inferior anyway!!!
