Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Can't remember too many from my days following the mighty Fosse. Two stick out immediately - Izzet at Old Trafford at 0-0 when we went on to lose 2-0 and Dickov at home to Man City when we had an ever-so-slight chance of staying up if we'd won. Must be lots more, they just don't spring to my mind very easily. Can't really remember any from the Little, McGhee or O'Neill years.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 I remember Connolly missing one at Pride Park just after we had been relegated, although we went on to win at the time I was really frustrated.
Asha Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 not a leicester one but i can remember when leeds came here few years back Walker made a brilliant save to deny Marlon King also Gareth Barry when Villa came

Not a penalty, but do you remember the sitter he missed in the season we got relegated, Utd won 1-0 in th end, Neville scored.

Is that the Izzet one where he had to retake it bcause Barthez was being a knob? If so, that one and the Man City Dickov one are the ones I remember

Tubes Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 yeah Man /city dickov i remember because of the circumstances and theres was that breawl that delayed it for like 5mins with pressure on dickov building
dandannieldanok Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 yeah Man /city dickov i remember because of the circumstances and theres was that breawl that delayed it for like 5mins with pressure on dickov building Steffen Fruend went mad on the touchline didn't he. What a legend he was.
Sparky Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 steve thompson vs liverpool , think it was boxing day 94 . he hit the post and put the rebound in , obviously didnt stand , went on to lose 3-0 and fowler got his arse out . i got the whole liverpool squads autographs including rushie that day
placidcasual Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Gary Mills(?) at Upton Park against Charlton in Littles first season. 2nd last game (I think) We had a chance of going up automatically but were losing at the time. I think we took 10000 or so. Start of the game was delayed whilst the horde of City fans went across the pitch to the chicken run.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 For some reason I remember the one Izzet took in the Autumn of the season we went down. He cleared the old family stand at Filbert Street, disgraceful, can't remember who it was against.
Simi Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 The Dickov penalty springs to mind against Man City. That was crucial but it was not to be...
wallin1704 Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 paul scholes or was it nicky butt? against us down here in the league cup we went on to win 2 nil and go onto lift the cup that year!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 March 2007 Author Posted 22 March 2007 paul scholes or was it nicky butt? against us down here in the league cup we went on to win 2 nil and go onto lift the cup that year! That was Scholes.
filbertway Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 The Dickov one is the most gutting one, from my time of supporting leicester anyway.
Sods Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 I remember elliott missing one once and i was very guted as after that he kept missing them. Dickovs penalty was a bit annoying. On the subject of penaltys Garry Parker was the best penalty taker i have seen. And why did paulo di canio score/win so many penalties against us?
Joe. Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Dickov miss vs. Man City sticks in the mind like most people on here. Was an exciting game that day to say the least. Also Gareth Barry's miss earlier in the season was brilliant
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Not getting this Dickov thing, we were very down then any way so what did it matter
Milky Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Not getting this Dickov thing, we were very down then any way so what did it matter I think people still had a very slim bit of hope we could escape. When the pen was missed, all hope was gone, and even the biggest optimist accepted the inevitable.
potter3 Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Not getting this Dickov thing, we were very down then any way so what did it matter No we weren't if I remember that was basically the game that sent us down.
Mikey Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Not a penalty, but do you remember the sitter he missed in the season we got relegated, Utd won 1-0 in th end, Neville scored. I remmember when Barthez did that thing near the post o put Izzet off. He scored the first one but Barthez said he weren't ready then when Izzet re-took it he saved
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 No we weren't if I remember that was basically the game that sent us down. You all held out hope alot longer than I did then.
potter3 Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 You all held out hope alot longer than I did then. Maybe so, but I'm sure that the general consensus at the time was that that game sent us down.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Maybe so, but I'm sure that the general consensus at the time was that that game sent us down. I'm with you, I thought if we had won that game there was realistic hope, that was the killer.
