PAULCFC Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Been looking on the Derby site and it says that we've got him for the game on Friday.Don't watch the prem much anymore and wondered if he was much the same as all the other supposed top flight refs(Clattenburg and rennie spring to mind!)
The People's Hero Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Webb is awful. Not quite as appalling as Clattenburg or Rennie (ie I don't think he goes out of his way to be garbage), he's just incompetent.

He's better than those two, I actually think he's pretty good, sort of.

davieG Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 They're all awful when you're bottom of the cesspit like we are.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Proper bald tw*t! thinks he is hard! complete ****! We are fcuked! Not because of him though, because of the total lack of ability we have at our disposal!
Head Honcho Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 He's alot better than anything we get in this division! I agree. I think he's one of the better referee's in the Premiership. I think the fact that he's refereed more matches then any other official this season speaks for itself. He likes his yellow cards, 102 this season(reds 4) , but all in all he's been pretty good the games I've seen him in this season. .......but it only takes one game to undo all the good work just ask Graham Poll.
PAULCFC Posted 4 April 2007 Author Posted 4 April 2007 Much as i thought ........... a Hammering then!
Phlashman Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 He gave out the most cards given out in one game this season at the weekend, so hopefully he's got it out of his system.
Simi Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 He's not to bad as a Ref. A bit card happy. At least it's not C*ntingberg.
lcfc_jme Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 The best referee we'll get this season. Tends to flash the cards around a bit, as was evident this weekend. I'd have him to Rennie any day.
The People's Hero Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Surprised how many people think this guy is a good ref. He lacks control over games and ends up having to get the card out every 5 minutes.
DB11 Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 We must remember that he is a Premiership ref therefore he is reffing a championship game because he was appalling in his last game so we have to put up with him....
Simi Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 We must remember that he is a Premiership ref therefore he is reffing a championship game because he was appalling in his last game so we have to put up with him.... And no doubt put up with his constant stopping of the game for nothing tackeles. I'm now gutted we have him. Hate Prem ref's in our league.

Agreed, you can guarentee at least 5 cards andso many uneccessary stoppages, similar to when Rennie did the West Brom game.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 We must remember that he is a Premiership ref therefore he is reffing a championship game because he was appalling in his last game so we have to put up with him.... Noooooo. He's probabley reffing it as there are only two Prem games on that day.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Why can't we have Mike Reed, he was amazing!!!
Thracian Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Why can't we have Mike Reed, he was amazing!!! Hasn't he died a painful death yet.
MBK Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Hasn't he died a painful death yet. Quality of refereeing in England is a bit poor isn't it?
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Quality of refereeing in England is a bit poor isn't it? Where as in Malta I bet it's top ****ing notch.
Simi Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Quality of refereeing in England is a bit poor isn't it? Made out to be a lot worse than it is. The Media scrutenize it frequently.
MBK Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Where as in Malta I bet it's top ****ing notch. Same quality as the play. Got it to heart too easily didn't you. I don't like to criticise but I was speaking in a broad european level. Italian refs for example, stop play all the time but on the whole make accurate decisions (this particular year, last year was difficult to understand why people played at all, I saw around 5 matches by Juventus where the ball either did not cross the net and was judged a goal or the other team scores but ball was adjudged to bounce on the line etc). English refs seem to let play go about but that seems to push for players to overplay the refs' trust. I'm also observing the fact that teams at lower end of the table get the more dubious decisions than anyone else (remember Colchester?).

AHAHAHAHAH HAHHAHAHAHAHHA lol lol WUUUHHHAHAHAHA These the same Italian refs that have spent the last 3 years on Juventus's, AC Milans, Lazio and Fiorentinas pay rolls are they? Please. How on earth can you critisize English refs and then use the ****en Italians as an example of good refing is beyond me, sheer stupidicy. No I didn't take it to heart the refs in this country can be a bit shit. They're still better than Maltese refs though!
