Matt Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Leicester defender Alan Maybury believes playing the Championship's front-runners brings the best out of the Foxes.Rob Kelly's side failed to record a victory in March and last tasted success at struggling Burnley on February 20. The Foxes are 17th in the table after a six-match winless run and Maybury knows they must be less charitable ahead of the Good Friday clash with leaders Derby. Maybury told the club's official website: "It's a bit frustrating. Against the good sides who come here and play the football, we feel we more than match them. If it's a scrappy game, a fight, a battle, we're not quite so good and it's a little bit disappointing. "We are stuttering along at the moment and we can't seem to pick up the points. "We've not been too bad, but we're giving away silly goals. We're not getting anything easily and we're giving them away too easily." Correct, We can, Know why? Because our players can actually be arsed to play against the bigger teams, Our players think they are better than other Championship players and clubs, and when they play Blackburn, Villa, Bolton, Fulham, Charlton, Sunderland, Birmingham, Wolves, e.t.c we always seem to be up for the game and normally win or draw those types of matches because they are the bigger clubs and teams they know they will have to actually work at to win the game, but they go somewhere where the club is considered "smaller" and the players just think they can turn up and win the game, Wrong! Shut up with your crap Maybury! Fuk off when you have actually win some games! Goes for any of the other players than speak all "we really are trying please feel sorry for us" crap
JoeyB Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 We can when he's not playing, he does daft stuff and costs us goals. He's like the Titus Bramble of the championship.
lookwhaticando Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Let's not blame Maybury here. He was told to produce this stereotypical pre-match/post-match guff.
He's not bald Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 Let's not blame Maybury here.He was told to produce this stereotypical pre-match/post-match guff. Don't blame anyone but the idiot in charge, and if we beat the sheepshaggers on Friday it won't make any difference..he has to go and the sooner the better!
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 He's obviously just saying some rousing words to allay the expectation that we will be raped rather badly on Friday
DB11 Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 We can when he's not playing, he does daft stuff and costs us goals. He's like the Titus Bramble of the championship. I was gonna say exactly the same
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 I was gonna say exactly the same You and JoeB, Great minds thinking alike.
The People's Hero Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 You and JoeB, Great minds thinking alike. Those two are wasted on here. There are bigger issues like the problems of third world debt/cure for cancer that these two should be addressing...
MC Prussian Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Why does the club still produce statements like the one above? Dear players, shut up and do your job. I can't stand any more of those repetitious and pretentious pre-chewed phrases. At least Rob's learned a lesson (so far).
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Correct, We can, Know why? Goes for any of the other players than speak all "we really are trying please feel sorry for us" crap Not enitrely true that is it. lost to Blackburn (with a completley different teamt to what we have now) Lost to Villa, Lost to Fulham in the end, Lost to Bolton, we played like twats at Wolves and Birmingham and were lucky to get the points we did, and apparently we were only good for 45 minutes at the Stadium of Light. That theory doesn't work. Watford matched Chelsea for 90 minutes last weekend but I don't see any of their fans claiming they're Premier league champions material. The league table doesn't lie, our midfield is not strong enough to compete in this division, our squad isn't deep enough and our manager hasn't a clue.
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Those two are wasted on here. There are bigger issues like the problems of third world debt/cure for cancer that these two should be addressing... Cancer and third world debt are clearly Alan Mayburys fault as well.
Ric Flair Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Maybury certainly doesn't practice what he preaches. Fookin hell.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Maybury certainly doesn't practice what he preaches. Fookin hell. Shame maybury plays like a **** most Saturdays!
DB11 Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Shame maybury plays like a **** most Saturdays! Does that mean on Friday he'll be bloody good?
Tubes Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Hopefully he will be dropped for tomorrow. yeah gets stears or kenton in
Geo V Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Dont you just hate players who try to talk the talk but cant walk the walk ??? Maybury is the prat that has made so many mistakes that have cost us goals but still he comes out and talks bollox. Time to send him back where he belongs, the SPL with Dundee Utd and his mate CL. BTW please take De Vries with you.
Matt Posted 5 April 2007 Author Posted 5 April 2007 Don't blame anyone but the idiot in charge, and if we beat the sheepshaggers on Friday it won't make any difference..he has to go and the sooner the better! Hey, I want Kelly out aswell, but just a point in favour of Kelly and a little reminder, this is mostly Levein's players...Levein did a fooking cracking job with these players didn't he?! Its BOTH parties fault, Manager AND Players. People at work say "Oh I don't know why your getting excited about the summer because its alright having money but you have still got to attract the players" Correct. I agree with that comment but the moment we get rid of the deadwood in the squad the better! Because whoever we bring in (Players and Manager wise) it can't get too much worse...Been saying it for 4/5 years now though, Nothing changed, We ain't got any better and we havn't really got much worse (maybe slightly worse off, but nothing majorly different)
