Geo V Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 Messi was class for Barca last night with two goals and his first reminded me of that goal that Maradona scored when he waltzed through a rubbish England team http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HVRBfIlN6o
Geo V Posted 19 April 2007 Author Posted 19 April 2007 Its an exact copy of Maradona vs England in 86' Exactly! I was watching the coverage late last night on SS and the bloke is awesome. Not just the wonder goal but his all round play. I doubt we`ll ever get him to England as Argies dont usually do too well over here but I`d love to see him at one of the big 4.
lcfc_jme Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 Messi is an awesome footballer - there's no doubt about it. The ball sticks to his feet, he has a fair amount of pace and he goes by players with such ease. Brilliant vision for a young kid - and he's playing alongside Ronaldinho already, which is surely only pushing him harder, and will only serve to suit him a lot better for the future. Expect big things off the lad in years to come. I think he needs a hair-cut though.
Floating Fox Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 Saw it on the TV earlier - Great goal The whole stadium was just chanting his name for the next 5 mins
Wils Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 They were talking about it on Radio 1 earlier. Great goal. Still needs a hair cut though.
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 Overpaid cheat!!!With crap hair!! I really don't know why you bother with football.
Phube Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 I really don't know why you bother with football. How many more times??? I'm a Leicester City fan... not a football fan!! The two are slightly different... and wait until I get to 3,000 posts and I can have my own wording!!!
Geo V Posted 19 April 2007 Author Posted 19 April 2007 Well, as good as Messi is, he still cant do the Thats hilarious, especially the West Ham fan giving it ago.
Leonisco Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 Fooking amazing goal. Lovely chip over the defender to finish it aswell.
lildave3 Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 Brilliant goal, he has been much better than Ronaldinho this season, and he's been injured for a part of it. In the top 3 best players in the world for me.
Joe. Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 Well, as good as Messi is, he still cant do the Oh dear...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 That really is incredibly similar to Maradona's goal.

Its weird as he and Barca this season seem to play better without Ronaldinho as he always wants the ball at other players expense. Yesterday was an example of what it likes when all players are involved and it was an amzing 5-2 win for Barca and the football was out of this world (and they still cant defend ) I reckon ronaldinho will move to Italy this summer.

Ronaldinho is one of those players that needs to be at the centre of everything imo, and he isn't that at Barca (anymore).

Yeah he always seems to want the ball and as soon as he gives it, its like its only on a one second loan and must ahev it back . I wont start slating the lad though as he is arguably the best player in the world but maybe he shouldnt be so greedy. Ronaldo seems to look for his team mates more than last season and looks better for it and maybe Ronaldinho should do the same at times as it will relieve the pressure on the sod too!
Lord Nibblington Posted 20 April 2007 Posted 20 April 2007 It was allright. Not as good as the Trev, though.
Geo V Posted 20 April 2007 Author Posted 20 April 2007 It was allright. Not as good as the Trev, though. Talking of big Trev, I read something today and couldnt remember this rumour happening. Did it????? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...26/sfnhea26.xml A draw was just reward for Walsall. Sky cameras revealed that they were denied a first-half penalty when Martin Butler was hauled back, while Trevor Benjamin, on loan from Peterborough United, saw his effort disallowed by an erroneous linesman's flag. The Cowshed stand taunted "fat b******!" But a neat dink over Lee Harper belied Benjamin's frame and besides, the man who supposedly knocked Stan Collymore's lights out during a difference of opinion in the Leicester City dressing-room surely is deserving of a more appreciative welcome - at any ground.
Finnegan Posted 20 April 2007 Posted 20 April 2007 That really is incredibly similar to Maradona's goal. That's nothing. You wait 'til June and I'll show you something incredibly similar to Iwan Roberts.
