dandannieldanok Posted 12 May 2007 Posted 12 May 2007 In the league final today. Any of you care? I care, more for the Heineken Cup though. If they go on to complete the treble then great but if they had to lose one then I would prefer it to be this. Will be tough without Harry Ellis.

I'd watch this if it was on terrestrial but it's not so I'll have to settle for Rugby League instead. Ugh. Bloody Northerners.

I don't follow rugby much and perhaps people think it is exciting to have the title decided like this but I would personally prefer any league title to be decided on who actually is top of the league at the end.

So you still won the league but there was a play off as well. & Fez, who took the bomp from the bomp alomp alomp? Who took the ram from the rama rama ding-dong?

Geo V Posted 12 May 2007 Posted 12 May 2007 Embarassingly I am watching the Stevenage game because a mate of mine is there and he has backed them to win . 2-0 down to 2-2 and he has a chance. As for the Tigers, I suppose I should care more but all they get from me is the odd flick over to the channel to check on there progress and they are winning easily the buggers.

What a great city to come from: Leicester City FC, Leicester RFC, Leicestershire CCC................all first class teams and I can't think of another place that can lay claim to that level of sport with the city/town name in it.

In reply to the playoff system, yes it is a bit crappy but this year it worked out perfectly because Gloucester and Leicester finished 1st and 2nd level on points, only to be separated by point difference. So it was a perfectly fair way to separate it. Tigers were class today, the move of the match (and perhaps one of the moves of the season) was just after I think Tuilagi got his first try. They moved from one end to the other in a matter of seconds after the restart, with Rabeni making a break followed by good work by Moody. The handling and running from there was sensational and Tuilagi was unlucky not to score a second try. Spectacular scenes, and it was fantastic at the end to see them letting Jennings and Cullen life the trophy- I just wish they were staying for next season. We are still gonna be pretty good next year though what with Loffreda (spelling?) in charge and Aaron Mauger in the backs. Exciting times!
