He's broken his leg, he's hardly fine lol

Well that Crash is a lot worse than Senna's, he's certainly fine compared to him.

Agree with most written already, although reports are now that he doesn't actually have any injuries!

I wasn't around (well, I was too young really) to witness the Senna/Ratzenburger weekend, but I've watched videos of the crashes, and the resemblenses were shocking.

I only caught the replay of the crash on tv thanks to the bloody doorbell, but straight away when he hit the wall it reminded me of the two crashes. Speaks vast amounts for the safety of F1 that he didn't die or break any bones.

Not really, it looked worse I'll admit, but Senna's inital impact was more direct with the barrier whilst Kubicer car took off and hit it at a angle, which is why the car spun off back across the track as the intial impace didn't take take much speed off the car.

You've read most of it really well I have to say.

For the second time, he has a broken leg.

One of the few crashes recently in which I have been really glad to see signs of movement. It looked worse than the Senna crash and fortunately they have made the cars more resiliant now. You'd have been lucky to have survived that at half the speed in a roadcar.

Lucky Kubica to leave hospital tomorrow

Robert Kubica has escaped injury in his Canadian Grand Prix crash today and will be released from hospital tomorrow, autosport.com has learned.

The BMW Sauber driver made contact with Toyota's Jarno Trulli on the approach to the hairpin, his car taking off and hitting the concrete wall head-on.

After being airlifted to hospital in Montreal, and with speculations that the 22-year-old may have suffered a broken leg, the team received news that he has likely escaped without injury.

BMW chief Mario Theissen told autosport.com: "We have just go the information from the hospital that he is unhurt.

"He will stay in hospital overnight, but he will be released tomorrow morning."

Theissen said Kubica only lost conscious momentarily when the car came to a halt, following the impact, and the German described his driver's lucky escape as "unbelievable."

However, as for whether or not the Pole will race in next weekend's US Grand Prix, Theissen said it was too early to know.

"This decision will only be taken at Indianapolis," he said. "There will be a medical check, and we'll see then."

I've heard different, reports, some stating he hadn't broken any bones, other saying he'd broken his leg, either way I'm glad it isn't somrhting more serious.

Not really, it looked worse I'll admit, but Senna's inital impact was more direct with the barrier whilst Kubicer car took off and hit it at a angle, which is why the car spun off back across the track as the intial impace didn't take take much speed off the car.

But it was sort of like that with Gilles Villeneuve's crash, hit the barrier at an angle so it wasn't a full on impact, and we all know what happened there....The safety standards are much higher now, and the cars are stronger too.

From itv website

It was initially reported that Kubica had broken a leg but BMW has since made it clear that this information was wide of the mark.

Remarkably, the 22-year-old is reported to have no major injuries and is expected to be released from hospital following an overnight stay.
