Manwell Pablo Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_unio...ish/6741299.stm. not really bad news. It's only for a few games and they will have to pay us.
Daggers Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 A few games is hardly groundshare is it? And isn't this in the wrong forum? This is my smilie of the day
Wezleylowski Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Not bad news. The Tigers better not litter the shit out of Filbert way again, or i shall not be best pleased
Micky Ruddle Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 As a Tigers fan aswell as City, i'm not happy with this grounsharing. I'm sure it will be said, but, they will fook up the pitch.
hairy Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I suppose it depends on how long the construction process will be. I assume a season at least. Another factor to consider is that we might be in the Premiership by then

Daggers Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 If work does start next spring the Tigers could play their few remaining home games away from Welford Road, with Leicester City's Walkers Stadium the front runner.
mat_j101 Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 When they played that match at the Walkers this year, unfortunately we had 2 home games straight after it, so the pitch was really crappy for a while. It only works if they play their game and there is nothing else on the pitch for a few weeks or it doesnt get a chance to recover.
hairy Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 If work does start next spring the Tigers could play their few remaining home games away from Welford Road, with Leicester City's Walkers Stadium the front runner. So they imply they can build it say from April/May to August. Dream on.
Jon the Hat Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 So they imply they can build it say from April/May to August. Dream on. They may be only changing one stand, or at least only one at a time, in which case there is no reason to think they wouldn;t be able to the do the parts which require closing the whole ground in that time.
The Reverend Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Not this fecker again. Feck off Tigers! Unless we get paid loadsa money
city1993 Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Oh well, it might inspire our players to win all the other home games before they come, so promotion will be wrapped up byt then anyway, think about it !!
Flynny Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 According to someone on the radio this morning, the cost of the groundshare at the Tigers end has gone up since Milan took over, which is why they've gone forward with the redevelopment scheme. Milan will get us a nice chunky wad if Tigers have to play at the walkers. As for pitch condition - how exactly do Wigan manage? I'd always wondered.
Blue Bob Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 I am pleased Tigers are managing to sort something out for Welford road. I think that can only be good for sport in Leicester. Never been keen on the ground share idea purely on the basis of what rugby does to the pitch. Dont mind them coming down for a few games at the end of the season only if we are not challenging for promotion / play offs. If we are still in the mix to go up I think that we cant risk a poor pitch.

He's not bald Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Not bad news. The Tigers better not litter the shit out of Filbert way again, or i shall not be best pleased How many more times...it was the sheepshaggers not the tigers!

Wooly Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 Good. The ground deserves fans passionate enough to generate some atmosphere, it is wasted on us unfortunately.

Leonisco Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 Good. The ground deserves fans passionate enough to generate some atmosphere, it is wasted on us unfortunately.   Tigers fans? Passionate? Since when?
Macdaddy Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 I am proud of what the Tigers have acheived over the years, and I also want the best for City. Let the Tigers give us some cash, then maybe we could invest it in a decent kit! Or maybe as payment the Tigers could sponser us next season instead of Topps 'god-damn' Tiles.
dandannieldanok Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 This won't happen, how many bloody redevelopment plans do Tigers think up before turfing them into the waste bin, it beginning to get tedious.
