lee7 Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 MA last message to fans before he went on holiday was that all the signings would be completed by this Monday ready for preseason training. So either Chambers was the only signing to be done or it going to be one hell of a weekend!!!!! i hope not because we need a lot more players than we have got at the minute and certainly we need to bring in a few players with quality that can turn a game around and a few more solid players that you know are going to perform week in week out.

The window IS open... I could have sworn when I last looked the window 'formally' opened on July 1st. Now I'm reading it's June 1st. I think I've confused myself. Now is an ideal time to seamlessly change angle while maintaining the argument. Yes... most contracts run out on June 30th, meaning July 1st is the time when players are truly out of contract and can formally change their registration. Additionally, most club's players don't return to pre-season training until the 1st or 2nd of July, many players might still be out of the country and non-contactable until then. So either way, the real business of the transfer window hasn't really kicked off yet anyway.

I'd be really happy if we got Mifsud from Coventry, he needs to improve but he's doing well in this league. Can replace Hammond easily.
morris1234 Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 July the 1st in Italy for sure, so probably the same. its definately 1st of july, players signed on frees and for fees wont arrive at the club and be that clubs player until 1st of july, therefore some players at some teams will be late for pre season training. however fees payed for players will not be recieved by the selling club until the player joins on 1st of july! i think! but the transfer winodw is definately 1st of july as they use that time period between 1st of july and 31st august for the transfers of players because there are usually tournaments around june in other countries! with exeption to the legue as the league does start in early august!

I think they're quite attainable players compared to some of the names being thrown about. I think if we signed those two players, or even one of them preferably Clemence, I think we could be very happy with our summer recruitments. Team would look something like; Nielsen Chambers Mattock N'Gotty Kisnorbo Hume Hellings? Maybe Mattock with Sheehan at leftback? Left side could probably use one more player, winger or fullback. Kishishev Clemence Cort Todorov IMO that's far stronger than what we've had in recent seasons, especially if we keep fitness levels high. Maybe he doesn't plan for a 4 man midfield though, might be more like; Nielsen Chambers Mattock N'Gotty Kisnorbo Kishishev Clemence Hellings again maybe? In a more central role. Hume Cort Todorov. Either way, I'd be pretty happy.
