Suazo seems some player

...and I am disgusted that there has not been one rumour linking us with him.

What on Earth is Allen playing at? Huh? Huh?

I love the goal average so far - and the quality of most of them. It amazes me that people pour scorn on the tournament, it pisses on the Euro Championships.

I would watch it if I could <_<

I know yeah, we should be attracting players like that here so he can partner Hume, as Fryatt is forever injured and that new guy cort well he's perminantly crippled and that dude Sappleton? well he was rejected by QPR which obviosly means he is a poor mans elvis Hammond.

MA and MM you will pay for this!

Ask for Sky Sports for your birthday

Or alternatively find some Chinese channel online that shows it and you're a winner...

lol

Paraguay were on fire last night!

Santa Cruz got a very good hat trick and then substitute Salvador Cabanas scored 2 goals in tha last 10 minutes.

Argentina came through in a 4-1 victory over the USA, despite going behind through a penalty early on.

Crespo then scored two to equal Maradona's scoring record, followed by goals from Aimar and substitue Tevez.

I think Paraguay are quite useful :dunno:

I agree.

They showed they were no pushovers at the world cup, causing England problems and they have a few useful players in their squad, most notably Santa Cruz and Nelson Valdez.

HA! I just realised that it isn't live...again.

Seriously, I've just got to half-time and they have both been dreadful. One goal from a mistake and the rest of it taken up with dreadful defending and poor crosses.

As for the Paraguayan keeper - he looks dreadful. his kicks are an absolute joke.

Villar, something like that any way. Dodgy, then again I'm not a massive fan of South American keepers in general. Also in his defense he did save a penalty.

It wasn't one of Paraguays better games I have to say and definatley wasn't a fair reasult but I still think they are one of the top 4 teams in South America.

He fell onto a softly struck kick sent close to his body. :D

I was in Quito during the World Cup qualifiers (have I mentioned that I used to live in South America) and watched them destroy Brazil on TV with a load of mental Ecuadorian footy fans. They just don't do it match in match out.

Latin teams have the ability to be so inconsistent and destroy themselves during a game...Colombia are gifting possession and opportunity to the opposition to the extent that they would have made City look like world beaters last season.

I reckon that if you took Santa Cruz out of the team it would have been a different match.

Now that I've completely played down any positive expectations for the U.S., I don't really feel all that bad about last night.

Yes mate just a few times lol

Intresting dave, very much so, so much so that I wont do this injustice of answering when drunk. We will go into matters such as youngsters not having European experince and altitude tommorrow ;) .

Wish the USA took their best side. I think at their best they are very good indeed. With the MLS growing, and the fact 'soccer' is the most widely played sport in American it wouldn't surprise me if the yanks start to take over another sport.

Having said that I put money on Argentina!

altitude

It was played at Maracaibo...miserable shit-hole on sea. It's humid and you can't find a bar that's open gone midnight...but you can get half a cow and chips for 25p.

Hernán Darío Gómez dice que con la derrota ante Paraguay no se acaba todo.
Everything's not lost? For God's sake man...you had four defenders not bother turning up and the keeper that walked onto the pitch should have had big flipper feet and a red f'cking nose.

But he goes on to say that "Paraguay es un equipo que siempre ha incomodado a Colombia"...ahh, well, that's OK then isn't it - if they have always been a thorn in Colombia's side then there is no reason to expect any different.

He goes on to say that he reckons they have the experience and the players to turn over Argentina. If they were to get even close to equalising the great "El Cinco" (where they stuffed Argentina 5-0 in Argentina ~ Colombia, the country partied for two weeks afterwards) then they are going to have to improve immeasurably in my opinion.

If this bloke lives four weeks past the end of the tournament I will be amazed.

Dead coach walking.

I'm just getting ready for people to say how great Robinho is...

It was a good hat trick and a cracking display bar that god awful penalty.

Not seen him play like that since he was at Santos.

Altitude wise I wasn't reffering to that one game but South American football in general, of course Humidity and Heat play an equal part as far as some teams are concearned.

Yup - it's funny watching some of them trying to second guess where to play for WC qualifiers.

Bolivia don't really have an option - but Ecuador and Venezuela specialise in swapping between cities in a vain attempt to maximise an advantage. It's daft really, as Venezuela's qualification record clearly demonstrates.

A bigger deciding factor is one that is increasingly being documented - that of corruption of the officials.

When we used to go watch the horses in Caracas it wasn't a case of whether the race was fixed...it was all about trying to second guess how it was fixed before slamming a bet on. :D
