Ultra Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 He WON!!! Where are all those who said he should retire?
dandannieldanok Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 He WON!!! Where are all those who said he should retire? Hopefully hiding away, I have always believed that he could go on at least another few years.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 He WON!!! Where are all those who said he should retire? Here, and he still should. It's one game. Utter bottler. Was always going to take a Moya error on Match point for him to win. He played well I'll admit he just stiffens up when the pressure is on.

Your correct it is one game but I promise you no other player will get that centre crowd as lively as that again, he is entertaining and enjoying himself. Both players were magnificent and Henman should be given lots of credit to stay in it.

Today he proved me, and others wrong. He played a great game today and deserves credit
Flexx Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 People on Henman hill were saying he could win Wimbledon I doubt he will even get through to the 3rd

Oh he played well and it was a good game but Carlos Moya has never been very good on grass and he's another one on the way out. Although as I say he did suprise me I didn't expect him to win at any point. Although he'll probabley go and get knocked out by Lopez now. Changing the subject how does any one know how the draw works for Henman? Andy Murray would of been he's third round oppenent and he's pulled out and theres no 8th seed.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Oh, so the pressure wasn't on him in that game then? When it comes down to Match Point he freezes. When he's at 0-30, he freezes. He can get there he just can't finish it off. Let us remember Tim Henman is pretty much a grass court specialst and it's Moyas worst surface as well.
Raj Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Tim Henman will win Wimbledon now.....according the tomorrows edition of The Daily Star!
Lord Nibblington Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 It was also going to take a Moya mistake for him to actually put the game to bed. But he did play well in patches. But lets not go overboard. Moya is hardly a magical grass court player. And did take Henman apart in the second set.
Ric Flair Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 So the swansong goes on. It's good to see really, what with Murray pulling out. Even if it's only short lived, at least the British fans got something to cheer about this year. You just hope that Henman can have a right purple patch and get through on adrenalin, a cheeky quarter final or even semi final would be quality. Doubtful though.

potter3 Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 It's actually spelt "Mardy" and he's American I think...
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 It's actually spelt "Mardy" and he's American I think... He is. People are probabley mixing him up with Mark Fish, who used to play at the back for Charlton. He was South African.
Milky Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 It's quite amusing reading comments from some people who don't really know much about the sport.
