TBJS meets girl, TBJS and girl get on very well, a few months pass, friendship grows, girl likes TBJS but is scared to say anything incase he doesn't feel the same, girl stays round TBJS's house, girls tells her girl mates she's crazy about TBJS, girls girl mates get annoyed with girl going on about TBJS so tell TBJS secretly about the girls feelings for him, girl founds out TBJS knows that she likes him, girl hides, TBJS tells girl he feels the same, girl becomes a complete **** and changes the subject everytime TBJS tries to talk to her...

What should TBJS do.....?

Go out with girls girls mate!

Tell the girl that he doesn't really feel the same but that the girls girl mates told TBJS to tell the girl.

Tell the girl that the girls girl mates are secretly trying to split TBJS and girl up.

Tell girl to stop being a cow and either she loves TBJS or FECK OFF!

Unless TBJS is totally in lurve...

Women......can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em.

Am I the only one who loves the reference by TBJS to himself in the 3rd person?

Brilliant!

He's like a modern day Mickeh Adams

Sweep her off her feet.

That's the one.

Make her an offer she can't refuse.

No, TBJS, not THAT. Something romantic. You know, like an expensive dinner, or a picnic, or a day in London. Something like that.

Spot on.

Send flowers. Sort out a picnic. Take her to the ballet. Whatever she's in to.

Ask her mates what she'd really like.

Too late, I have told her how I feel, but she just shies away

The girls mates like me and want her to get with me, they say she has always been strange when it comes to talk about lads

I am close to this now

p.s I'm 23, she's 19

She's beautiful AND got low self-esteem = perfect for TBJS

...but just can't get through to her, it's as if TBJS and girl became such good mates girl is scared to take it up a notch....and it's killing me softly...fugee la la

Go on an action-packed holiday with a group of like-minded people who know how to be positive. :D

Nah! You're missing the point..

The girl is not talking the same language as TBJS.

TBJS cannot talk to her as she changes the subject.

This means either he starts talking 'girly', or he sticks to being a man and gives an ultimatum.

Sweep her off her feet.

I thought you meant, properly sweep her off her feet. Like everyone used to do at school to each other, I had the technique down to a fine art. You'd slide in on one leg and then sweep with the other, like sliding in and kicking a football in one movement. They'd go down like a sack of shit every time, I once got a dinner lady. The crowd loved it.

Try that TBJS, I think it will get an outcome either way.

Ok... flowers, meal, texts (that make it clear you're interested but don't sound too pervy), maybe the cinema? (not that kind of film though!). And pay her some attention for god's sake!

Personally, I'd avoid anything too cultured... ballet, theatre, opera, art galleries etc, etc - they're the kinda things people say they're into, but actually they're not. You'll just end up with both of you sat there, bored to tears, but both too embarrassed to say anything because you think the other person's into it. (Apologies to all those who are into such stuff, and who I've undoubtedly just offended! :dunno: )

Not sure that makes sense - but hopefully you'll get the general idea.

Good luck! :D

OK, I've thought about it now.

I'd go for the softly, softly approach.

If you can cook, cook her favourite meal.

If you can't cook, get a book and learn!

If the meal goes wrong, laugh about it and order a take-away.

Don't make the 'setting' too cheesy.

During the meal, tell her how you feel again and ask her if she feels the same.

Tell her she's beautiful and ask her if she's worried it's going too fast - she might think that for all you know.

Tell her not to feel pressurised by you or her mates. You'll take it slow if that's what it takes to keep her as a friend.

All too serious?

Then do what Ric says and floor her. That will get the laughs back.

Unless you hurt her in which case, you lose!

thanks guys, TBJS appreciates

I know for a fact she's been treated badly in the past, she doesn't take any compliments I pass her seriously. I'm going on holiday next week for 7 days, maybe it'll give her time to miss me and then I can come back glowing and 'sweep'. Otherwise I guess TBJS will just have to try and move on...
