Lord Nibblington Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 None of the PT ones count since he was interested in every single player. What? Romantically? Socially? Do Tell!
The People's Hero Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 What? Romantically? Socially?Do Tell! Anthropologically. Quite the anthropologist was our Pete. Not much of a whizz in the transfer market though. Shame really.
Lord Nibblington Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Anthropologically.Quite the anthropologist was our Pete. Not much of a whizz in the transfer market though. Shame really. You would have thought they might have spotted that. Terrible misunderstanding.
Karljohn Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Lovell? the scottish striker wanted by Levein... Bobby Zamora from Brighton
Joe. Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Lovell? the scottish striker wanted by Levein...Bobby Zamora from Brighton On the last home game of the 02/03 season we put up a banner next to the away fans (who were Brighton at) saying: We're Up- Join us Bobby. It's fair to say they didn't like it...
Stevosevic Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Hartson deal was pretty much completed wasnt it? then didn't happen.
dandannieldanok Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 The press reported during O'Neill's time that we had actually signed Andy Booth from Sheffield Wednesday and Chris Armstrong from Tottenham, both for around £3million - at different points during the 1999/00 season. Dunno how close we were to signing either of them in reality though. I certainly remember us pretty much agreeing a deal for Booth, although I think they pulled the plug at the eleventh hour because they had no cover up front.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 I certainly remember us pretty much agreeing a deal for Booth, although I think they pulled the plug at the eleventh hour because they had no cover up front. we almost signed Graham Fenton for about 1mil...... oh no, wait, we did.....
Graz Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Jani Sturm as well a couple of seasons back. Was announced I think, then failed the medical or something. Actually, was it work permit?
Daggers Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Oh bollocks - we'll be relegated now for sure. Fvcking Mandaric...he's ruining this club.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 We were in the race to sign Jasper Blomqvist too before Manure captured his signature
The People's Hero Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 We were in the race to sign Jasper Blomqvist too before Manure captured his signature Was that one of those races that no one wants to win, but everyone shows a bit of willing? Like the race to the bar when you're in a big group?
shen Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Jani Sturm as well a couple of seasons back. Was announced I think, then failed the medical or something. Actually, was it work permit? No, it was the medical.
Tevez Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Bryan Hughes when he was at Brum, we was in Administration and we was going to get him on loan. Never Mind.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Was that one of those races that no one wants to win, but everyone shows a bit of willing?Like the race to the bar when you're in a big group? Yeah, and you kinda just shuffle to the back hoping that this nightmare evening will end before you have to buy 7 pints, a becks and a shandy for the designated driver.... oh and one for yourself.... 'Oh, is it my turn?? Ok welcome to Leicester Jasper......'
lookwhaticando Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 Who was that striker chap we tried to sign from north of the border? Lovell was it? It got so far in that the OS decided to tell us we had made the move... and then he decided to stay put. Whoops.
dandannieldanok Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 I also remember us chasing Michael Bridges at one stage a few years back.
Sparky Posted 28 June 2007 Posted 28 June 2007 We were in the race to sign Jasper Blomqvist too before Manure captured his signature Was that one of those races that no one wants to win, but everyone shows a bit of willing?Like the race to the bar when you're in a big group? funny that should be mentioned as originalrobbofox rarely ever wins those races

Guest seanfox778 Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 Didn't we almost sign Roy Carroll from Wigan before United got him
Jonbluefox9 Posted 29 June 2007 Posted 29 June 2007 Kelly wanted to sign Stead on loan before he went to Sheffield United last season. He was told that the club didn't have the funds to do a deal though so I've been told.
