DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 i dont see how you can comment without seeing them play I can. I'm a pro. Dagenham Dave was so impressed he requested my autograph on one of my handkerchiefs.
RedOnRed Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 When Allen was at the Dons he made loads of new signings very quickly in what seemed almost a panicky sort of way really. It seemed every other day there was another signing and sometimes more then one in a day would be presented on the web site. I would say less then half of the signings turned out to be that useful. In our case when almost all of them were free it wasn't the end of the world but if we'd paid money for them I would've been pretty disappointed with his overall transfers.
AyewJoking Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 Yeah they are poor signings and I will be very surprised if this lot inspire us to a top 6 place.
teblin Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 I'm still not sure what people expected. Still think the suprise or bigger name (names) are still to come.
Fox in a Box Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 No todorov then, we keep on missing valuble targets, I really dont think were cutting it in the transfer market gone charlton (on bbc website)
The Stig Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 Yet another example of a poor thread, most people who ae talking sense are saying they are mildy optamistic and will wait until we have seen them play to judge. If I was a mod I would close this thread as its going nowhere.
Master Fox Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 It’s a shame my posts were deleted from this thread
Daggers Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 It's a shame my posts were deleted from this thread Your posts are always the tits in my book MF. The tits.
Mr Happy Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 Anybody else think our new signings are a waste of time and no better than last seasons rubbish ???? 'Never judge a book by it's cover' Get real mate! You can't go around bemoaning our new signings some of whom nobodies heard of, or seen play, before! IMHO people should stop complaining, get behind the team, and wait until a couple of our matches are over then make your judgements on the new players brought in. I think your'll be quite surprised as there'll definately be dark horses this season
General Smuts Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 We've got Kaebi now shut the F**k up and support the team!
Geo V Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 We've got Kaebi now shut the F**k up and support the team! Everyone reserves the right to raie a question mark or two or moan when they need to moan but that doesnt mean that they support the club anyless than the next man. These forums are set-up for supporters from everywhere and anywhere about their team and if someone wants to have a moan then let them without getting to this almost clique status of pouncing on someone who has something remotely negative to say about the club. I for one started a thread a good few weeks back about being a little worried and had the handful of ****** online who takes things so out of context when I was merely worried that we hadnt signed the type of players I had anticipated we would be getting when the season ended but some good ones like Kisha and Kaebi have joined to make me feel much more optimistic about the new season. My point is, let people say their piece without trying to force everyone to look out of rose-tinted glasses and be happy that all is fine when at times it isnt!

With respect - you admitted to not giving your initial post the consideration it deserved - and got the flack it deserved as a result. I think the use of the term 'disabled' is ill-considered. It comes from Mongol and was used as a disparaging term to describe those with Downs Syndrome. Call me a cnut for pointing out that your thread was too negative if you care, but keep those other sickening terms out of it.

People take things out of context all the time on this forum and its usually because some of us arent experts in forums and sometimes have trouble in translating real talk to forum speak. I wont go into the ins and outs of the word "disabled" but its used quite often in London (where I live) as a way of a funny but attacking insult just as words like Idopt, Sap, etc are used. I obviously am not attacking any particular disabled group as you seem to think I am and am not at all interested where some may think where words derive from as I know the context I am saying it. Back to point, read that thread that I started up and more people had reservations than those who had a moan. My point is that certain people seem to think its not OK for fans to voice there concerns amongst fellow fans. Its not like we are all in a Forest pub with Trees fans canning our club, its just at times someone may want to say Kelly was useless or Hughes or Elvis need to go. All I am saying is (although I am sure the idiot element will paint a different picture), let people say what they like and not just have a go because it wasnt what they want to hear.

Simi Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 How can you judge that players are poor when you haven't seen them play. . Yes, they arn't well known names that have a great track record, but tehy obviously have some talent that has made either Milan, Allen or The Don to go after them. Give them a chance.
Daggers Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 How can you judge that players are poor when you haven't seen them play. . We all know the answer...but (apparently) we should be understanding towards abject tools who wish to state otherwise
