Daz.I Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 put down who you think will be our key player next season if were to push for promotion and why ?
Thracian Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Wesolowski for me too. But I cannot help but wonder if one of the new young players will break through to become a favourite. Someone with a bit of devil about him, someone who'll take folk on and really ask questions with his passing. It might be just wishful thinking. Such players aren't encouraged these days. Too much risk, too easy for the fans to have a go at them when it doesn't work. Sadly, far too often, we still preach the flawed gospel according to Allen Wade.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I might make a case to state that I dont think we have one...no real creative spark as yet...
LCGJess Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Iain Huuuuuume. One of our best players last season, hopefully get better support this season. & I like his tattoos
Thracian Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I might make a case to state that I dont think we have one...no real creative spark as yet... And you might well be right but I'm not abandoning hope this early.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 And you might well be right but I'm not abandoning hope this early. Yea, pre season is filled with optimism! Although this week and next, from whats on this forum should be quite exciting!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 If we sign Gary Lock, he'll turn a few games around for us.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 I think the key will come in either midfield or attack, and, as many have suggested, Weso will play a pivotal role. Whoever partners Hume upfront will also be crucial, but then again whoever plays down the flanks will be vital in the team's performance, and I think that young Mattock will shine this season as well... God knows, but if I was to put a bet on someone, it'd be Weso.
LCGJess Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 God knows, but if I was to put a bet on someone, it'd be Weso. He'll go and break his leg again
lee7 Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 i think it'll be a midfielder because thats where most of the attacks should be starting from and hopefully we will have some quality there.
Foxhateram Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 i think it'll be a midfielder because thats where most of the attacks should be starting from and hopefully we will have some quality there. mmm i think it will be kishishev tbh, hes experianced and he knows what hes doing in that midfield role, i think its definatly between him and weso but i think kishi will have the edge as i think he will be the one dropping back, and making those tackles that need to be made.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 He'll go and break his leg again That's the one problem with Weso, but if he can stay injury-free he'll be pivotal.
C-man Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 If Cort scores 15 - 20 league goals next season we'll be challenging for the top 6.
Raj Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 He who has the key, hence holdeth the secret will be next seasons key player...i hope we sign someone called Yale...he then,WOULD be a key player!!!!
morris1234 Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 i reckon fryatt will be a little gem for us next season!
Raj Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 i reckon fryatt will be a little gem for us next season! A lovely crispy lettuce..beautiful in sandwiches with cheese, pickle, tomatoes, onions and nice brown wholemeal bread.
wallin1704 Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 i think its gonna be a toss up between fryatt (if he can stay fit then i think we will see him net 15+ goals this season) i'm glad we turned down the offer from wolves for him as i think he has a lot to offer this club and will begin to fulfill his potential this year. and kishishev who will be the anchor in midfield he has leadership, experience and i think he is a brilliant signing and i'm sure he will make us a lot more solid in midfield as last season we looked so lightweight was untrue! although saying that im hoping all the new signings become integral parts of the team/squad. i've read elsewhere on this forum that some people are disappointed with the signings we've made so far. from a personal p.o.v i think we've now got a much better squad and with the addition of 2-3 quality signings we will be far better prepared than we have been in last 2 seasons. i'm looking forward to the new season!
Thracian Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 i reckon fryatt will be a little gem for us next season! I've never known CZ's turn into diamonds. But if club's like Wolves are attracted by his rumoured but, as yet, unpolished brilliance and are prepared to pay diamond price whatever he turns out to be, then it won't matter. He'll be sold "as (occasionally) seen" I imagine.
Geo V Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 Im gonna opt for Nielsen. AT times our goalkeepers have flattered to decieve and Im hoping he will have a big influence, pressence and voice to help organise our usually quiet defenders. Im surprised so may have opted for Weso. I have a feeling he wont start the team next season. I reckon it will be... NIELSEN CHAMBERS - KISNORBO - N`GOTTY - KAEBI HELLINGS - KISHISHEV - (HENDRIE or other) - New signing HUME - CORT Logan - McAuley - Hayes - Weso - New Striker I have a feeling that we ,ay well let Matty go if we get the right bid and have been quoted at needing a new striker like Job or an other.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 Kisnorbo and N'Gotty at the back will be a crucial partnership and hopefully like N'Gotty has said already we can be tight defensively and pick up lots of clean sheets. Kaebi's pace will be key too and the fitness of the likes of Weso and Cort are crucial as they have the potential to be key players.
Mr Happy Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 mmm i think it will be kishishev tbh, hes experianced and he knows what hes doing in that midfield role, i think its definatly between him and weso but i think kishi will have the edge as i think he will be the one dropping back, and making those tackles that need to be made. Kishishev Either that or I reckon that the dark horse is going to be Hellings, after all nobodies really heard of him and definately havn't seen him play so who knows? Our key player this season?
