purpleronnie Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 If england lose this after being 3-1 I'll never watch them again.
Micky Ruddle Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 3-3 Ha. Unlucky Broad How we lost this God will never know. Dear oh dear. Sort 'em out Colly! Well done Pietersen, classy mis-field at long on.
Milky Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 If england lose this after being 3-1 I'll never watch them again. Why? The Indian team is full of established super stars, and have a shedload of caps. The England side is very much a work in progress, full of young and inexperianced players. On paper India should win this series. As an England fan you should be delighted with the signs of progress, afterall the last few years have been pretty grim in ODI's. The world ranking very much shows that! Whether we win, or lose 4-3, this has been a promising series for England. The likes of Broad, Bopara and Bell have shown they may have a bright future. Anderson has really come to the fore as our main seamer. Add this to the likes of Flintoff, Collingwood and KP, and we may just have the shapings of a decent side. It's been a good series for us, whatever the result of the decider.
Geo V Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 What the hell happened here? when I left we were getting spanked, I then got a test to say that 5 wickets fell quickly and I have come home to hear India got over the winning line! They are a class side and to be competitive against them whilst we are building a side is a very good sign although throwing away a 3-1 lead in a best of 7 woul dbe hard to take, especially after a shocking World Cup and losing a couple of one day series` already!

That's the thing though, we haven't thrown it away. For the 3 games we lost there were some very encouraging signs. If India do take it 4-3, i'd say they'd won it rather than us throwing it away.

If India do take it 4-3, i'd say they'd won it rather than us throwing it away. A little while back we couldn't lose but since the ashes loss all we have managed to win is that silly One day comp prior to the World Cup and things have gone down hill ever since. We haven't been convincing in the last 18 months and the new management will want to install a winning mentality because Moores is paid to win and he has hasnt done too much of that so far. I'm not saying we haven't improved substantially but we are at home, playing on what should be favourable conditions so should be competitive which we are. If we want to be the best we need to be ruthless like Australia who get a lead and seldom let it go. However, if you go 3-1 up, you shouldn't really lose, unless you are Leicester playing away to a Shearer inspired Newcastle.

David O'Leary Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 GREAT SERIES! Pity India couldn't have won when I was at Edgbaston! Heres to another 600+ runs at Lords! apparently its looking grey overhead and the pitch is quite green, i think that the ball will swing and seam about a lot more than the last few matches. Here's to Anderson getting a 5 wicket haul
Micky Ruddle Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Good start by JA. Looking classy once against. Having a good series is this boy The "Little Master" looking to get his name on the board of honours at Lords. Good luck. ________________________________________________________________________ Poor decision by Umpire. Looked good out there Tendulker. I believe that may be his last appearence as a batsman at the Home of Cricket.

Tendulkar should've got a better contact on the ball and not hit his pad. He gave the umpire a chance to give him out.

Milky Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Aye True, True. It is diffiucult umpiring. It is easier said than done Yeh it's a difficult job. Uthappa just clearly edged one behind and it wasn't given. That's the game.

Micky Ruddle Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 106-5. Good stuff. Keep piling on the pressure England 25 Overs gone.
