Solihullfox Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 Radio Leicester just said CL will be dipping into the transfer market in the next week and they think it is most likely to be a central defender. He has said he does have money available for a transfer not necessarily a loan deal
Fox 4 Life Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 Thats good news but havent got a clue who it will be!

Louise Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 From the OS: Levein Targets Further Signings Craig Levein is on the hunt for new players ahead of the Football League transfer deadline in March. The City boss has a number of targets up his sleeve as he looks to bolster his squad for the Championship run in. Levein has already brought in Mark de Vries, Alan Maybury, Stephen Hughes and Lars Hirschfeld since taking over the Leicester reins last November. The Scotsman has also signed up Hearts defender Patrick Kisnorbo on a pre-contractual agreement allowing the Australian international to join up with the Foxes in the summer. And following the departure of James Scowcroft and Chris Makin this week Levein is now in a position to again strengthen his squad. He said: "The departure of James and Chris has freed up some money for ourselves to maybe do something with in the market before the March deadline. We are currently looking into that at the moment. "I would be looking to do something in the next week or fortnight. We certainly won't be doing anything before the game on Saturday though. "Things are fairly tight and if I am going to spend some money then I want to make sure that I get it right. I have been pleased with the guys that I have brought in so far and I don't want to make a mistake. So I will take my time. "I have got some targets in my mind already and I know what I am looking for. It maybe difficult to get some of them but we shall see what we can do. "It doesn't take an awful lot to work out that we are short at centre back and that's an area that we will be looking to strengthen." http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~628602,00.html
Bedford Fox Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 i think he is looking at a few more jambo's
Ric Flair Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 I think the realistic transfer targets should be: Joey Hutchinson - Darlington centre half. 22 years old and very talented. Will Haining - Oldham centre half, 22/23 and played a blinder against Bolton in the FA Cup. Scottish and looks good. Darren Moore - West Brom, 30 years old but a man mountain and i'd be more than happy to see him here. Darren Kenton - Southampton defender who can play anywhere across the back 4. Out of favour there and quality in this league. Lloyd Dyer - plays on the wing for West Brom but hasn't had a sniff this year. I still think we lack an out and out winger and this lad is young and quick. Curtis Davies - 18 year old centre half from Luton. Getting good reviews this season. Jonathan Douglas - Blackburn left sided midfielder, 22/23 and not getting much first team football. Looked good under Souness last season Jonathan Stead - Nuff said.
Ric Flair Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 i think he is looking at a few more jambo's 67884 He can't! we can only sign domestically as the overseas transfers deadline was end of january I think?? If we can then i'd go for Zander Diamond if we've got the cash and Steven Pearson from Celtic who's not getting in for them.

Who ate all the pies? Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 Joey Hutchinson is a very good player (I mentioned him on another thread), he's injured at the moment though and I don't think he'll be fit until next season!

He knows so much info
Who ate all the pies? Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 After checking Hutchinson is out until at least April due to cruciate knee ligament damage...so that doesn't sound like a lot of fun! Haining was linked with Brum a while back so perhaps a bit beyond us. Moore...I'm just not a massive fan to be honest, but we'll see. To be fair we haven't got enough money to really get anyone whose gonna be magical, might be best to wait and see what we can do in the close season.
BartonFox Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 I think the realistic transfer targets should be:Curtis Davies - 18 year old centre half from Luton. Getting good reviews this season. 67886 It will take an awful lot of money to get him away from Kenilworth Road. He is so highly thought of there and to be honest I would be surprised if we could get him.
Ash Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 Jonathan Stead - Nuff said. 67886 Sheff Utd tried getting him on loan a few months back & Blackburn rejected the offer , so i think a deal with Stead is doubtful

And he's going out with Michelle Marsh!!! imagine her in Leicester boys
emmalcfc Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 I heard on the news tonight, that there was scouts from some clubs at Boston and Lincoln's match last night. Including scouts from Leicester and F****t.
Solihullfox Posted 17 February 2005 Author Posted 17 February 2005 On Sky Sports News CL has said that his latest targets (note plural) are not from Scotland. There are a few irons in the fire for the imminent deals and he gives the impression of knowing exactly who the long term targets are. This guy is delivering exactly what he said he was going to deliver and I get more and more confident about this manager by the day

Including scouts from Leicester and F****t. 68024 On that subject, I'd like to say TWO-NIL, UP THE IMPS!! Sorry, Lincoln are my local team, it's always nice to get one over on the local rivals Hence my dislike of Andy Kirk, even if he is a good player <_<
Who ate all the pies? Posted 18 February 2005 Posted 18 February 2005 Damion Stewart is going to Darlo so that could pave the way for a city swoop for Joey Hutchinson. He is injured, but coming back to fitness...we could do worse!

Ric Flair Posted 19 February 2005 Posted 19 February 2005 I think the realistic transfer targets should be:Joey Hutchinson - Darlington centre half. 22 years old and very talented. It is definately the way forward for Leicester to sign some younger players from the lower leagues, we've tried the experienced players from the premiership route and it hasn't worked. So since my passion for some young players from the lower leagues has strengthened i've stepped up my research on the players in that league. Leroy Lita would be my first choice, but he'd cost us atleast £750,000 the way he's playing. I think Haining or Hutchinson would be picked up for less than £300,000 which would be bargains in my eyes. There's a lad at Colchester I think who's meant to be quality aswell, but I can't remember his name. It's not Kemel Izzet but early on in the season he was getting rave reviews, dodgy sounding name i'll have to do abit of digging.
Steven Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Maurice Ross (Rangers) - The 24 year old defender with 12 full caps for Scotland is at the moment uncertain of a place in the Rangers team. He's a good central defender in the right age and a player Levein could have a close eye to.Scott Severin (Aberdeen) - Also a Scottish international mostly used in midfield at Aberdeen, but could also play in the back. The 25 year old player has 9 full caps for Scotland and could be a player that also fits Levein's transfer budget. Kevin McNoughton (Aberdeen) - Another fine player. A 22 year old defender with full caps for Scotland. His season has been good but could be a player Aberdeen wants a fee for that isn't in the region City would be able to pay. Zak Whitbread (Liverpool) - A wild guess really and a player few has heard about. Zak play mostly for Liverpool reserves and the USA born player is a fantastic prospect. A 21 year old that hopefully are on Levein's list of prospects. Andrew Davies (Middlesbrough) - Haven't been selected much this season and joined QPR on loan. A great prospect as well. He's a England U.21 international and could be on the list as well. He's only 20, but again a player with a great potential. John Kennedy (Celtic) - A 21 year old defender struggling to get into the first team with players such as Balde, Henchoz, Varga and Laursen to compete with. Kennedy is a Scottish U.21 international and might be on Levein's list. Anyone know anything about these players and whether they might be realistic targets.
Scow Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 We have little chance with Andrew Davies - McLaren rates him, so I doubt he'll let him go.

The 25 year old player has 9 full caps for Scotland and could be a player that also fits Levein's transfer budget. Very viable target and CL was angery to lose him last summer Kevin McNoughton (Aberdeen) - Another fine player. A 22 year old defender with full caps for Scotland. His season has been good but could be a player Aberdeen wants a fee for that isn't in the region City would be able to pay. Prefer him to Mo Ross that is for sure. Zak Whitbread (Liverpool) - A wild guess really and a player few has heard about. Zak play mostly for Liverpool reserves and the USA born player is a fantastic prospect. A 21 year old that hopefully are on Levein's list of prospects. Forget it, the next big thing to come out of Anfield there is no chance of getting him, sadly. Andrew Davies (Middlesbrough) - Haven't been selected much this season and joined QPR on loan. A great prospect as well. He's a England U.21 international and could be on the list as well. He's only 20, but again a player with a great potential. See Whitbread. Anyone know anything about these players and whether they might be realistic targets. 69806
