Raj Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 Thought i'd take the Mrs away for a day trip and booked us into a Bed And Breakfast in the lovely quaint, idylic countryside of Denby in rural Derbyshire and then read this...... http://www.blink.org.uk/pdescription.asp?k...=66&cat=330 Obviously had to cancel as i don't think we would be welcomed with open arms!!!! Hope no-one else is going!!!
lookwhaticando Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 I used to go to school in Denby. Lovely stuff. If you're going to go to Derbyshire for something though, head further north into the Dales. Tissington/High Peak trail areas are quite delightful in my opinion.

lookwhaticando Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 I've been Tissington, I enjoyed it.Go me. Used to do the trails, or a section thereof, each week. Exceptional. I also did Tissington (all 15 miles of it + 2 miles to a pub... and then back again) when I was back in the UK briefly for a week last year... for old times' sake. You aren't going to that rally are you???? You are right Derbyshire is lovely We visited the Peak district area (castleton & Dovedale)BEAUTIFUL! BUT NOT THIS WEEKEND!!!!! What rally? And Dovedale is rather splendid, it must be said.

Hope no-one else is going!!! I'm all for free speech and I wouldn't want to ban a rally just because I disagreed with someones politics. Having said that I wouldn't want the cranks/wankers/morons anywhere near my home.
Dames Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 BNP, Chavs and 'Hooligans', Always bring shame to us good White Folk.
Alexikokopops Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 BNP, Chavs and 'Hooligans', Always bring shame to us good White Folk. The hooligans are loose, the hooligans are loose!! (Oxford 1992)
Daggers Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 I'm all for free speech and I wouldn't want to ban a rally just because I disagreed with someones politics. Having said that I wouldn't want the cranks/wankers/morons anywhere near my home. There is a line though, however fine, between free speech and simply inspiring/inciting hatred. We have a list of 46 (I believe, it was 44 in 2005) banned international groups and 14 banned groups in Northern Ireland. I see no reason why the BNP shouldn't join this list. Their support stretched beyond the vocal for the Loyalists during the Irish troubles. In fact, the only reason to allow them to continue is simply to laugh at them, their corrupt councillors and their miserable ability to organise anything other than a piss & a punch-up. I must say - I adore the choice of photo for the article ~ they look a simply delightful couple.
Daggers Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 The hooligans are loose, the hooligans are loose!! (Oxford 1992) I'd hate to be a dustbin in Shaftsbury tonight!

I can - it's hysterical - it's all I see when I look at that picture
Flynny Posted 4 August 2007 Posted 4 August 2007 Cheers for the heads up, Raj. I'd forgotten about that rally. Wouldn't want to miss another one.

Hope no-one else is going!!! To be honest my great aunt and uncle live in derby and they are totally racist and probably spearheading this. But i honestly dont agree with it because i dont get how race and colour can cause all these problems. I dont get why people hate other people because of their race/colour. You dont start a revolt against small people...it just doesnt make sense to me and i totally disagree with all of them.
