Chairman of the Bored Posted 12 August 2007 Share Posted 12 August 2007 Agreed. He was good y'day. Just one concern, thought he might have "risen from the dead" and chopped Southern down just before shooting, though. Bit slow getting to his haunches and risking life and limb for the team. Blue Fox Posted 12 August 2007 Share Posted 12 August 2007 It's good to know we have some versatility in the team but if he's the best LB we've got we should play him there! I'm happy either way he was getting some stick on here pre-season so it's nice to have something good come out of the game. Injuries aside that is! He was getting stick as a left back because he's shit there and shit hot at right back.

Simon Posted 13 August 2007 Share Posted 13 August 2007 No updates on his injury yet? I hope all is well because he is vital to this team IMO. Quite right. James was fantastic on Saturday. The thought of him and Kaebi down our right hand-side is a mouthwatering prospect- lots of interchanging, overlapping runs and penetrative attacks. I sincerely hope that we'll see both of them before long (I don't think Kaebi's kicked a ball in a City shirt yet has he? )

The People's Hero Posted 13 August 2007 Share Posted 13 August 2007 I'm still clinging onto a vague hope that we might actually sign a left-back at some point this decade. Alan Rogers is very very available.

ibbosuk Posted 13 August 2007 Share Posted 13 August 2007 Thought he was excellent today - a vast improvement on Stearman and Maybury. So nice to see a full-back who is so firmly committed to attacking as well as defending and will provide an outlet at every opportunity.Hopefully his injury is not too serious as I thought he was our man of the match today. The thought of him and Ka'abi on our right side this season is startling. Opposition left-backs are going to have their hands full. Fingers crossed we can make the most of it. I totally agree with you m8 I think he was easily our best player and our best attacking option
Fryatt4WC'06 Posted 13 August 2007 Share Posted 13 August 2007 If we sign a left back of the same ability of chambers i think our back four would be among one of the best in the division, he looked so much more threatening that Newton when gettin forward and i'd rather he played right wing (but that would be another player out of position). I thought chambers was excellent today and would love to see players witht eh same attacking instinct has him further up the field. I would love to see Gradel get a chance from what i hear from thracian but seems like any Ball players with a bit of flair don't get a chance, Hayes when he came on gave us so much more in the 20mins or so he got that Weslowski would in 46 games on the left. I don't mind players having a go at their full back and get tackled, it happens but i'd rather they are trying to go past them than looking inside and playing 5 yard passes to the centre mids who are clsoed down like a flash due to the oppostion knowing the pass is coming. For all of Allens talk of attacking football i thin we had one genuine goal threat on the pitch at the start of play Sat, Hume, who although didn't have a good game is the only player who has scored on a regualr basis for us. When we changed and brought on DJ/ Hayes we actually looked a threat, but still until we learn possession is key to winning football matches we will still struggle. McCauly seemed to be one fo the main culprits with his reckless "Hoofball".

Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2007 Share Posted 13 August 2007 Bit of news on his injury would be nice. Still nothing on the official site! I would think it would be sensible not to play him tommorow and hope that his available for Saturday! The way he looked in pain, suggested to me that it may be more than just a strain
TheBlinding Posted 13 August 2007 Share Posted 13 August 2007 I would love to see Gradel get a chance from what i hear from thracian I'd like to see the 1st team replaced by the youth team from what I hear from Thracian. Especially this creative general bloke, Levi Porter I think his name is, ripping every defence we come across to shreads. Must be difficult for him down at club, getting confused with that short lad that plays left wing

Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 August 2007 Author Share Posted 13 August 2007 we possibly wont find anything out until monday i reckon most scans/ ect are done then. Just be thankful we don't have to put up with this kind of bollocks; England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney faces a lay-off of about two months after suffering a hairline fracture of his left foot against Reading. (The Sun) Rooney is set to miss England's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Russia in September because he faces a spell out of the game of six to eight weeks. (Daily Telegraph) The 21-year-old is facing three months on the sidelines following his latest injury problem. (Daily Express) United star Rooney, who was forced off at half-time in his side's Premier League opener, will be out for about two months. (Daily Mirror) Rooney will be out of action for at least six weeks. (Daily Star) Forward Rooney is set to be out for six weeks after suffering the third metatarsal injury of his career. (Daily Mail) Further tests on Monday are set to reveal more about Rooney's recovery time. (The Times) Rooney will be out for at least two months. (The Independent) The official line is that Rooney faces a six-week lay-off but it could conceivably be longer. (The Guardian)

Milky Posted 13 August 2007 Share Posted 13 August 2007 Chambers really should've crawled off the pitch or something. Just lying 8 yards out is asking for trouble.
