Carl Cort

Not impressed with him so far. I thought yesterday his work rate was woeful. In my opinion De Vries should of stayed on ahead of him yesterday, although Cort did look a little more threatening second half when playing with Hume and Fryatt who did a lot of his running for him.

The sensible, thoughtful ones will be queuing up to tell us he's not fit yet, he's been a Premiership player, he's showed the occasional glimpse of what's to come, that de Vries was the same when he first joined... etc etc etc.

So far he has been absolute garbage and we can't afford passengers at the moment. This is a bloke who needs to be in our reserves, never mind Kaebi and Ferreira.

Fully agree.

Until he's fit enough to play a full 90 minutes, he shouldn't even be considered for selection.

But no doubt Megson will play him against Wolves, and he might even score!

It wasn't long ago the majority were saying the same about De Vries lol

But yesterday fuk knows why De Vries was replaced, Should have been Cort and DJ replaced.

Cort is Awful, but De Vries has proved me/us wrong so come on Cort now its your turn.

Carl Cort - we've given him time to get fit and he has played a few games, what is he like? for me he doesn't give anything to the team, waste of space in our squad, if he continues to get the nod i hope he proves me wrong, but, if not i for one will be very angry.

He already has about 5 threads, although some have not spelt his name correctly lol. Maybe a MOd could merge with this??? http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...20&start=20

Anyway, Ive seen enough to know he isnt ready. Not that he is finished nor that he will never be good enough to make an impact, simply that he needs games and is not ready for the first team. Like we did with MF who had fitness and sharpness worries, lets sling CC in the reserves for 3 or 4 games and if he shines, then get him in.

I dont get why he has been promoted to first team duties and stays there are shocking performances like he displayed against Charlton. Its not like we are short of strikers to bring in is it? To drop both Hume and MF from the starting line-up yesterday was a terrible decision.

It's amazing to think he was once worth £7m according to Newcastle.

At the moment for us he's useless, and needs more time in the reserves.

Well according to rumour Sir Bobby Robson cocked it up and was meant to pay the money for Euell, obviously it could be total bullsh*t but its quite a funny story.

Well if he did mean to pay the money for Jason Euell...

Bobby Robson was so confused over Cort that when some reporter was talking to Shola Ameobi, he asked what nickname that the then gaffer Robson had given him and he actually said "Carl Cort" the dosey old sod lol.

Yeah he's been disappointing but if you're like me you wont have expected too much from him anyway.

Play him against Wolves? They may know his limits too well but Cort may dig deeper in order to get one over on his old club.

Fryatt and Hume up front then.

So far, for me Corts work-rate has been very poor. Constantly yesterday he'd lose the ball and just stand there and watch the play develop. In the first half as well, he seemed to want to let De Vries challenge for all the balls, not that he did that very well either.

When we had the Hume and Fryatt combination they seemed to know each other a lot better, although that should be expected after the time they have been here! But they do link up much better at the moment than any of our other strikers.

I would be very surprised to see Cort start on Tuesday, former club or not. It would just make no sense to me considering what we've seen from Fryatt lately, not necessarily his performance, but when he gets a chance he seems to take it, against teams like Wolves, taking chances is critical. Look at Birmingham vs United yesterday, Brum could of easily won that game, one mistake cost them.

Scoring goals is vital, I can't remember Cort going near the goal yesterday, let alone getting a chance.

To be honest all our rejects score against us so maybe just maybe the reverse will happen on Tuesday should Cort play.

I'd rather not take that risk though.

To be honest I think De Vries can be important for us this season but Cort, NO!

For some reason De Vries has determination and a passion for the club at the moment, he might not be the best and fastest, etc. But he is a perfect role model for younger Kids and even flippin Carl Cort.

i HATE hammering any player who wears our shirt.

BUT im very concerned with Cort,DJ and Kishichev.

I hope they all prove me right and go on to do a good job for us

Give him a chance, we've gave other players a chance so why not Cort?

We've gave too many shit players chance after chance and thats why we've ended up where we are.

Its about time we gave people who are worthy of a chance like some of the kids or the 'quality' wingers we have just wasting away in the reserves.
