BigGibbo Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 A forest fan came on here when megjoke first got appointed and said he would go defensive at one nil up an thats exactly what happened. I hope what else the treeboy said isnt true as it included a large amount of hoofball and falling out with players. Its true its true
Bert Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 It was a catastrophe. Leading 1-0 at home with 10 minutes of the game to go, having had the majority of the game against a team expected to battle relegation. Even their fans predicted a thumping.
MADLEVEIN Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 maybe ive got it wrong but isnt megsons first game in charge against forest ? as i understood it from the press last week he nothing to do with team selection on saturday and surely not to blame for the result of the game, substitutions, tactics etc. this guy is on a hiding to nothing, we need to give him a good run of things, i know most will say allen never got that chance, but as alot of brainess morons cannot seem to get it in thier heads that allens departure wasnt nothing to do with results purely personal issues. i hope megson can shut a few people up and get us going.

When we were walking back to the train station after the game a QPR fan spoke to us and they thought they were really lucky to get something from the game. They thought we should of put 3 by them before they had the chance to get one. He also said that going defensive invited them onto us, and it helped them because they were largely pitiful throughout,
brett759 Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Levi Porters was the one playing on the left yeah? i thought he looked decent especially in the second half at times can we have him on loan....thx (QPR fan) after all we need a decent left winger or were screwed thats if u dont need him

Ha. gutted.
Lillehamring Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Was it bollocks... do you have an a-level in pedantry or something?
Simon Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 do you have an a-level in pedantry or something? Not really- your bullshit just has a habit of bringing out some pretty strong opinions.
Guest Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Maybe because Allen tried to win the game whereas Megson virtually threw it away. The Blackpool and QPR games were very similar to me; we had chances and failed to take them. The difference being the penalty. I would have been interested to see what MA would have done had we taken the lead in the opening game. Going by comments from MK Dons and Brentford fans, I don't think we would have seen much different, and the Accrington performance certainly suggests the same to me. It's alright blaming Smegson, but he's only the latest in a long line of managers. How many times did we drop points and have Adams saying post-match "We scored too early". I feel like we're going round in circles.
Ric Flair Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Worrying article. I think the players performance deserved a bollocking, but perhaps not publically in his first match that he's not even fully taken charge of. The bit about the young players is a load of bollocks as well. The only 'young' player out there that had a dreadful performance was Porter. Wesolowski has been pure quality all season and to be fair to Sheehan, he didn't put a foot wrong on Saturday. The other players are all in their mid twenties or older, if Megson thinks that's young then he's in for some stick for the natives if he drops Wesolowski & Hume etc for some older war horses.

No. Permanent transfer? Free? Help yourself.
Thracian Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Loan? No.Permanent transfer? Free? Help yourself. Do you mind me pinching that approach for anyone who has a less than good game? It would be the perfect way to trim the squad to a more realistic size.
Guest Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I'd share your sentiments, Thracian, if it was his first disappointing game, or a one off.

We'll see who survives... There's no way Porter had a good game on Saturday. But although he never seems likely to play in what would be his most effctive position, I'd still like to get to the bottom of why he's stopped scoring/making goals. But that was always my approach. I didn't just chuck off-form players out. I tried to put right what was wrong. It always seemed the purpose of a coach to me.

Lillehamring Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Not really- your bullshit just has a habit of bringing out some pretty strong opinions. fu(k me, i thought i was in a forum: ...and there's me contributing to an ultimately pointless debate, what a daft bugger, i am! but looking back, i assume you're talking about such STRONG OPINIONS as: His post-match comments just really rubbed me up the wrong way- he's got a way to go to even come close to satisfying me. vicious! and: I take absolutely no delight in it at all. You're entitled to your opinion Razor****ingsharp... not to mention the skillfuly deabated 'was it bollocks' - in response to a ballpark reported shooting distance... if you want everybody to agree with your knee-jerk panicking, then you better come back when you toughen up a bit... the fact that i am open-minded enough to consider that a drawn football game may not be the end of the world and could be the result of more than just bad substitution, surely isn't 'bullshit'... especially considering the most in depth response you can manage on this thread is: Oh yes.I'm finding it really hard to hold back everything I'm thinking right now. i suggest you form any kind of opinion and have the balls to post it before you go around coating me off...
