maddog Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 It's been a real ride of a season so far. I had so much optimism pre season under MA that we would reach the play offs. We had signed a lot of good players and i was really looking forward to watching the new players especially Kaebi after all the hype that we had signed a world cup star. Yet Kaebi has only played 10 minutes and didn't even make the bench yesterday, i have no idea why. We have had awful home results against Blackpool and QPR, conceded a last minute goal at Palace, thrashed Watford and been dominated for a half against Forest. Allen was sacked unbeliveably just days after Clive Clarke's near death and now Leicester's future looks even more uncertain. Cort finally made his appearence and was pretty poor, probably even worser than De Vries. I have no idea what the team against Forest is going to be. We need to play the same team for 5 or 6 games so they can get used to playing together especially up front. We need to play the same 2 strikers up front for 10 games or so, then they will be able to build a partnership. If we keep swapping between Dj Hume Campbell De Vries Cort it just won't work. We need to pick the same strikers so they learn to play together and get the goals. Kaebi must start against Charlton next week and hopefully against Forest. But the big question is where will we finish at the end of the season? I would have said Play offs after the 4-1 win against Watford and Allen in charge but now ill go for top half.
Raj Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Top 2.... "Get behind the Manager" "Be optimistic" "move the kop and the family sta.......
maddog Posted 16 September 2007 Author Posted 16 September 2007 Top 2...."Get behind the Manager" "Be optimistic" "move the kop and the family sta....... top half is pretty optimistic really, i will get behind the team and in time if the team get the wins i will get behind the manager
Raj Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 top half is pretty optimistic really, i will get behind the team and in time if the team get the wins i will get behind the manager Thats what its all about pal!!!
Master Fox Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 I actually think we might get relegated this season.
BigGibbo Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 I actually think we might get relegated this season. never top 12 by the end
Jack Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Top half is about where i'd expect to finish and then push for promotion next season.
Nod.E Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 I actually think we might get relegated this season. Oh please.
maddog Posted 16 September 2007 Author Posted 16 September 2007 0 chance of us getting relegated. Not much chance of us getting promoted. We will see after the Charlton result next week. We we can play well and win 2-0 maybe we could be promoted , but if we get thrashed 4-0, promotion chances are slim
Asha Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 We'll finish 12th ish. We're going to be like Burnley. never move a division.
FilboFox Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Its quite a change from the pre-season euphoria under Allen isn't it... most of us were saying Play-offs and then promotion in the final... now its "top half"... says it all really.
Staf Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 We'll finish 12th ish. We're going to be like Burnley. never move a division. I can see that happening actually
filbertway Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 As I said at the start of the season, mid table. The only way my opinion would have changed is if we would have won 4 or 5 or lost 4 or 5 (convincingly). It's far too early in the season to make a judgement, ask after 20 games.
Brainy Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Away to Charlton is the type of game I see us winning actually.
Tommeh Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Unless we start winnig vital home games against so called lesser teams like QPR then we'll be bottom half / mid table mediocracy, again. We showed good potential at Palace then at home to Watford but these results wont count for much unless we win games like saturdays! I think top 10 will be our limit under Megson so some where between there and 14th for me, "the Burnley and Plymouth area" of the table Think we had this discussion a few weeks ago when Allen was still here and I firmly believed we could finish in the play-offs, shows what 3 weeks and a managerial change can do for someones optamism.
Daggers Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Unless we start winnig vital home games against so called lesser teams like QPR then we'll be bottom half / mid table mediocracy, again. Mid-table mediocrity is an improvement on last season and the one before!
Geo V Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Play-offs but i wont tempt fate by suggesting we`ll get promoted. We`ll have to start hanging on to these leads though and converting the chances we create to get there though.
Tommeh Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Mid-table mediocrity is an improvement on last season and the one before! Don't depress me
Daggers Posted 16 September 2007 Posted 16 September 2007 Don't depress me We don't have a squad for promotion mate - no matter who the manager is and what tactics he employs. I don't want to be paying money to see Porter trying to play against Liverpool. Gimme a couple of transfer windows first.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Top 10 would be a good result Megson has a lot to work with and a lot of work to do
