Manwell Pablo Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Hume, N'Gotty, Clemence, Fulop, Clarke and Kisnorbo would all do a service in the top flight imo.If we' don't promoted within 2 years Hume will be snapped up from above. Clarke is nowhere near good enough he's a steady player at this level and thats it. And theres a question mark over whether or not he will play ever again anyway. N'Gotty is 35. Kisnorbo looks questionable against good opposition from what I've seen so far. Clemance maybe, we could do worse than Fulop, Hume tbh I just don't think is good enough. We'd need to buy alot of players.

Hume: He'd run around as much in typical heart-on-sleeve displays, but he lacks cuteness. He would be our best player but no clubs have come knocking so far and nor will they. N'Gotty: Too old and too slow to play with the big boys anymore Clemence: He hasn't found his feet consistently with us here, let alone considering him for Premiership glory Fulop: Yes (but again, he's not ours) Clarke: If he plays again I'll be amazed, but if he does it certainly won't be in the top flight Kisnorbo: Gets caught out by QPR - seriously, you see him being able to contain decent attacking lines?
maddog Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 With the last vestiges of hope for automatic promotion ebbing away on the forum, let's nail this bugger for once and for all...Who in the current squad would not make an absolute arse of themselves in the Premiership? If I'm being generous (because it's Monday) then you have at most: Clemence, Hume, Wesolowski and Fulop. ...And Fulop isn't even ours. Maybe some of the others will come on this season, maybe we'll sign a few decent players in te Xmas window - but I'd hate to think about the pastings we'd take every week if we ever got up this season. Would anyone seriously like to spend an entire season being humiliated by every other team in the Premiership? we wouldn't be totally humiliated at all. If you take out the top 10 prem teams over the last few years: Bolton, Portsmouth, Everton, Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Blackburn, possibly Man City for this season, Villa. Theres in my opinion the 10 best teams, what have you got left? A pile of average or shit teams So what im saying is there are about 10 teams in the prem that will totally humiliate us probably, any other of the 10 we have a good chance of getting a result.

The only team in the Premier League we would stand much of a chance against with our current squad would be Derby. No doubt about that.

Fooking Ipswitch almost qualified for the champions league once, who did they have? It's all about the passion and commitment of the players in the premiership, and not just be imtimidated or give up against the top clubs like Man u Arsenal Chelsea liverpool etc. If our team now went into those matches into the Prem believeing they would get a result and not be thinking o my god we are gonna get thrashed here, they can get results if you know what i mean

That Reading team was made up of players for to good for the Championship and thats why they absloutley dicked the league!! Ipswitch had a host of good players such as John Scales Matty Holland, Jim Magilton and Marcus Stewart who hit 19 goals that season. This team, at the moment, can't even get results against Championship clubs this is a stupid arguement.

Tottenham Newcastle & 8 other teams that if they didn't lose any players would get promoted from this league
Raj Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Big Mark DeVries would cause havoc in the Premier League. i aint even joking.
BigGibbo Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Big Mark DeVries would cause havoc in the Premier League.i aint even joking. Probably but only because the opposition will be wetting themselves at him
Master Fox Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Not one of our players is good enough to play in the premier league.
Stuliasz Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I'd rather be an embarrassment in the Premiership than an embarrassment in the Championship.

Unfortunately we don't have that at the moment.
Master Fox Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I'd rather be an embarrassment in the Premiership than an embarrassment in the Championship. Ain’t that the truth !!!!
maddog Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 what im basically trying to say is i don't think the current Leicester team next season in the premiership with a few additions would get humiliated every week. We would finish top 15 and wouldn't do what Derby are doing this season and Watford and Sunderland have done before. Id be optimistic if we got to the premiership which we still could this season and believe we can finish top 12 and comfortably avoid relegation. Who cares if we lost 4-0 every week at least we would get to watch quality players, even if they are for the opposing teams
Raj Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 To be fair...we are crap in this league, what fcuking chance have we got in the Premier????
Kilworthfox Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 To be fair...we are crap in this league, what fcuking chance have we got in the Premier???? Optimistic bus?
ronnup Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Bloody hell,Now you put it like that. What a shambles 16 signings!!!! Unbelievable .... And we're still shit Just had the same epiphany. What the farook?
Raj Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Optimistic bus? :D :D That IS me being optimistic!!!
Thracian Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Spot On,my god i'm agreeing with you I don't. Because the whole slant ignores the fact that our existing squad is well capable of winning matches in this division as the first five games have shown... Blackpool: Inexplicably cautious and slow to take the initiative but created far more opportunities before being embarrassed by a sucker punch. Palace: Caught out a few seconds short of victory. Watford: Eventually overwhelmed the League leaders. Plymouth: Earned a point with no attacking ambition whatsoever. QPR: should have won quite easily but donated them a share of the points with inexplicable tactics. It is the leadership that has let us down.
Thracian Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I said that on Saturday on the way back to the car. Sheehan and Porter down our left side. It's like Mandaric is reading Thracian's posts for advice. Mock all you like. We were winning when that pairing was broken up. In fact we were winning comfortably and had kept a clean sheet. Three minutes later that lead was surrendered. Porter was below his best as an attacker as most of us agree but he still gave the team balance and the defenders an outlet.

I'm unsure of Clem, he always seems to ebb away in the second half; and that's at Championship level. I would probably include Kisnorbo and N'Gotty and McAuley stepped up from League One, so perhaps he can do it again? Maybe, who knows.
Thracian Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 First things first. We've got this League to master first.
