We're consistent in recent years, consistently shit.
Ric Flair Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 The thing is though, Hume is shit Shit players don't score 15 goals a season is a very shit team, they also don't score 30 yarders more than once in a blue moon.
The People's Hero Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Shit players don't score 15 goals a season is a very shit team, they also don't score 30 yarders more than once in a blue moon. I agree. Jablo.
Master Fox Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Shit players don't score 15 goals a season is a very shit team, they also don't score 30 yarders more than once in a blue moon. The whole team is shit. If he's that good surely he would have been snapped up by Premiership team or a decent championship club like Colchester or Bristol? The problem is we retained too many of the shitters and signed a whole load more. Add that to our over rated young players and you've got the ingredients of a shit team. Not to mention Gary Megson. And just because he scored a deflected goal from that distance doesn't make him a good player. Sheenan and Levi Porter?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Oh well..........We live in hope of not being shit
The People's Hero Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Oh well..........We live in hope of not being shit We're not sh it - it's a big overreaction. We have the potential to be a lot better than we are at present. The squad is certainly top 6 material in my opinion, that being due to the strength in terms of competitiveness in the middle of the park now, with options up front. It's whether we realise this potential which will be the measure of Megson's success as a manager here. Give him time.

The People's Hero Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 And when we realise that Strikers and Center mids are not actually wingers... I'm hoping (if perhaps not expecting) that a fully fit Chambers (good player in this division) combined with whatever Ferreira and Ka'ebi are capable of, might see us pack a bit more threat and pace down the flanks. Newton is actually a decent player too, not seen him yet this season, but from what others have said, he doesn't appear to be the answer this time round. That said, I'd persevere with him as he certainly has the ability.
Master Fox Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 And when we realise that Strikers and Center mids are not actually wingers... One day he'll be World Class. He has potential, get behind him, give him a chance, we’re in it together! Oh, and one team one dream!!

Wish i could say the same about the left side but the words competant and stable spring to mind.

I'm really hoping Chambers plays against Charlton as I really rate him (as a forward thinking player - not so much at the back) and judging by what a few people on here have said (whom I trust) he started the season quite well. As for Ka'ebi, well, when we'll genuinely see him fully fit and versed in the way we want him to play is anyone's guess. The changing of managers and coaches etc probably hasn't aided him in that respect.

Ka'ebi was a monster for the reserves the other night and he was playing right back, so if theoretically you play him right mid he has a bit more licence to get forward without having to worry to much about tracking back.
The People's Hero Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Have we seen anything of Ferreira yet in the reserves or anything?
Dames Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 You're thinking donkeys then Donkeys - Sheehan and Porter Competant - Mattock and Ferreira
Bluefoxtim Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 And when we realise that Strikers and Center mids are not actually wingers... How many people were urging Levein and co to play Hume on the right wing?
Thracian Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Donkeys - Sheehan and PorterCompetant - Mattock and Ferreira Mattock this season: P2 W0 L1 D1 Sheehan this season: P5 W2 D3 L0 I've seen little of Ferreira but if he ever leaves his full-back as exposed as he left Kaebi against Lincoln Reserves he'll have a short career in the first team. And if he proves as good at supporting his full-back when we've lost the ball as Porter 'll be truly but pleasantly amazed. Nils coped fairly well at full-back last season but little credit is given to Porter for the help he gave. But don't take my word - as if you would. Wait to see Ferreira for yourselves. I will meanwhile hope that first impressions defensively were entirely incorrect. In fact while people are going bananas about the Kaebi's, Ferreira's and Djaziri's let me mention that the Reserves conceded three that night. With a team that some might argue was half full of potential first teamers. It might easily have been more. That said Kaebi would be my right midfielder any day. He might have raw edges for the English game but he can play a bit. No question.
