lookwhaticando Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Stovell Joins The Team Posted on: Mon 17 Sep 2007 Leicester City boss Gary Megson today confirmed that fitness coach Ade Stovell had joined his backroom team. Stovell was part of Megson's coaching staff at West Bromwich Albion during his four-and-a-half year tenure at the Hawthorns. The City chief announced the appointment of Frank Burrows and Gerry Taggart as coaches when he was unveiled as the new manager at a Walkers Stadium press conference on Thursday. And Stovell was on hand at the Belvoir Drive training ground on Monday to take part in his first training session alongside his new colleagues after accepting the role. Megson said: "Ade worked with us closely during our time at West Brom. He is top drawer - a great lad. "He will be able to out run all of the pros that we have got and also out lift them all at weights. The players like working with him and he knows his stuff. "He is also a football man - not an out and out fitness coach. I am delighted that he is here. He'll be a big asset."
Bryn Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Christ, how many new members of staff do the players need to get to know? Can't be good for them, we've had more ins and outs this season than a whore gets in a week.
Flexx Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Apparently he used to work for the army, he should be able to get them fit.
Dobieforthefoxes Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 I like the way his time with Megson at Forest wasn't mentioned.....
David O'Leary Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 The first name brings back so many bad memories..

We did just rid ourselves of a fitness coach a couple of weeks ago... much to the disgust of a number of you on FoxesTalk. It's only logical that we got a new one to replace him. Besides, as many people have said from time to time during the last few seasons - let the new guy bring his own men in. You don't hire a manager and tell him to work only with what he has (unless he's a caretaker, a la Worthington). If a new manager is to have any chance of success, he needs to organize his own setup - coaching staff, management consultants and gardeners all. That's fine by me. You don't hire an electrician and tell him to use your tools.

Smudge Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 At least he's not ginger. If he was he'd be orangeade
lookwhaticando Posted 17 September 2007 Author Posted 17 September 2007 Oh definitely, I quite agree, but it must be doing the player's heads in. They knew what they were getting into if they knew anything about Leicester City's eccentric owner and recent history. If they didn't, then that's their own fault.

DB11 Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 If he can keep the players' fitness at the same levels that we were beginning to notice under the MA regime (Damien Doyle or something??) then that's good; improving them further would be a treat
AoWW Posted 17 September 2007 Posted 17 September 2007 Looks fit to me...im sure the ladies will like him I AM married you know! Well I wasn't going to lower the tone by mentioning this, but as Raj bought it up.... Phoar! Hot. Suddenly things in the citeh camp are looking up!
