MPH Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 One of the first 'mobile' phones... my brother had one.
Finnegan Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 That, or the incident it references, was a large factor in sparking the Welsh seperatist movement in the late fifties, sixties and seventies. At the risk of being "at it again", I'll keep it short, sweet and impartial. Basically, Capel Celyn, a village and heritage site considered a "stronghold" of Welsh culture and religion along with acres of Welsh farmland was drowned to create the Tryweryn / Llyn Celyn reservoir. The reservoir provided "back up" water to Liverpool, and nowhere in Wales, and the act to build it was opposed by thirty five out of thirty six Welsh members of parliament. It went ahead anyway. edit: Oh, and it says Remember Tryweryn.

Write a letter to Boris Johnson and promise him the votes if he somehow reverses the procedure if elected as mayor! BTW Raj just text me to say that it translates to "Wales are now shite at Rugby". I don't know how he gets away with things like that.
Finnegan Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 S'ok. If he comes to the 11 a side I'll extract some revenge.
Geo V Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 S'ok. If he comes to the 11 a side I'll extract some revenge. He needs sorting mate. Aim for the kneecaps.
Finnegan Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 He'll be on my side. Revenge will have to be subtle... but damaging.... maybe psychologically.
Geo V Posted 14 October 2007 Posted 14 October 2007 He'll be on my side. Revenge will have to be subtle... but damaging.... maybe psychologically. Who is the ref? Make sure you take him out of the game physically first and then play the mental card. At corners, make sure you are in the box and make sure Raj is in sight. Once you spot him, jump into him regardless of where the ball ends up. They`ll never know. Right, despite it being a long long day, I still am not tired so its time to hit the poker tables. Thats me for tonight but don't forget what I said about the Rajster, he needs to pay
Master Fox Posted 15 October 2007 Author Posted 15 October 2007    I remember that. I was out there just two weeks after that guy got shot in the neck. The riots that followed were pretty bad.

Master Fox Posted 15 October 2007 Author Posted 15 October 2007 Whats the story on that picture? Basically, there were a group/mob of Greek Cypriots demonstrating against the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus. The guy in the photo is a Greek Cypriot trying to climb a flag pole to remove a Turkish flag that had been raised on the Greek side of the of the green line. As the man reached the top of the pole without any warning a Turk in a look out tower decided to shoot him in the neck killing him on the spot. These images were being broadcast live across country which led to uproar and full scale riots where I believe more people were shot and killed.
Webbo Posted 25 October 2007 Posted 25 October 2007 Say what you like about the daily Mail, that's a brilliant front page.
Zingari Posted 12 February 2008 Posted 12 February 2008 The England team, left, which included a 23-year-old Stanley Matthews, perform a Nazi salute during the German national anthem in Berlin, 1938.
