Finnegan Posted 13 October 2007 Posted 13 October 2007 Last season's game in general was a lesson in "How not to finish". I had two that were fairly tame in the first twenty / twenty five minutes. The first I'm not too fussed about, the angle was tight and Tevez made a decent enouigh save. The second was fairly woeful. Practically one on one and I twatted it straight at him. Elvis would have been proud of me. It's all about the second half, though.

Either way i just wanna play! Nothing's official yet, at all. We don't even know if the game's going ahead, so hold your horses, kiddo. If it is, there'll be a couple of team lists posted up after the FA Cup 3rd round, if we lose. As we only had 12 (13 if you include Knighton Matt) people last time, and not all of those are likely to come again (Where the hell did Sly go?), there'll probably be plenty of places in the O21 side. Especially considering people will probably drop out, claim they'll come then not and pussy out because of the winter weather. That and the fact you've said you can defend put you in pretty good stead, to be honest.

Might change it to over 20's for this one and only game we shall see. After all thats basically what it was last time anyway. On the subject of Sly, he's been on recently but only breifly, I've got his mobile number so I'll send him a text if the games on, chances are it wont be as we do normally make the fourth round. I was going to start organising the end of season one in January anyway, I came up with the idea in March last year and to be honest I could of done with a bit more time as I only just managed to scrape a squad togther for the 021's. Trying to sort exact dates inbetween the end of the season and the Start of the Euros will be tough as well. I actually invisage it being much easier to sort if we don't have a game over FA cup 4th round weekend as the majority of folk would of kept that Saturday free in case we get Man U .

Not sure if Mr Pablo has kept check of the players signing up but I'd be interested to see if there is anything approaching a team assuming the date in January is free. If in any doubt I said I'll be there. And I am a "defender" in the loosest possible sense.

As far as I'm aware, those from last time that will appear again are: Kokopops, Mabs, Singh, Durnerz, Fez, TPH, Tomassi, Finnegan, Nibblington and Scoweh. Sly and Hullfox have been quiet and I'm not sure whether or not KM will realistically be back to provide his match winning er, deciding (?) impact. That means that, realistically, if we were to match the u21s in squad size we could take on another eight or nine people. That's a LOT really. Like I said before, keep in mind people dropping out, pussying out, being injured or having other commitments. So far LFF, Sparky, Cobbo, Raj and JTB have expressed interest.

Joe. Posted 17 October 2007 Posted 17 October 2007 To be honest Manwell I don't think you'll need to change it to over 20's. After the success of last year's game there should be plenty more interest from your lot than last time. Oh yeah... and we want Maybes, Bert and Wilkes too
