Nath Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Bit of a dilema up front finally. Especially if Hume actually is fit, which i do doubt. DJ, Cort and Collins have all scored in there last matches. Who does he start? What about Fryatt?! Shame we don't have this dilema in midfield. Such low numbers in midfield. Maybe Fererra (sp?) and Kaebi make the bench
Milans Foxes Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Assuming Clem, Hume, King, Mattock and Weso are not fit!! Fulop Sheehan N'Gotty Mcauley Kisnorbo Stearman Chambers Newton Kenton Cort John Subs: Henderson Fryatt Maybury Kaebi Ferreira If the players at the top are not fit, we may finally get to see the likes of Kaebi, Ferreira and Hellings making an appearance. But I can see at least one of them being fit.
lee7 Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Number oneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Carl CortNumber twoooooooooooooooooo Carl Cort anyone want to carry one? number threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Carl Cort.
Mr Happy Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Alllllllllll together now Carl Cort has scored his only goal For us! Scored his only goal For us! Scored his only goal For us! Carl Cort has scored his only goal For us! Scored his only goal Scored his only goal The team for colchester will more than likely be as chelsea but i'd pick: -------------------------Fulop Stearman, McAuley, N'Gotty, Kissa, Sheehan -------------Newton, Hellings, Chambers --------------------John, DJ Subs: Hendo, Fryatt, Kenton, Cort, King/Ferriera/Kaebi/Maybury/Somebody from the academy perhaps
Ben Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Fulop N'Gotty Kisnorbo McAuley Kaebi Chambers King Hellings Ferreira John Campbell Henderson Stearman Newton Cort Fryatt
Thracian Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 It's a difficult one this with the need to retain energy in the side but without disheartening in-form players. I didn't want to be critical of the Chelsea performance but I am still concerned about out lack of half-a-yard's pace in the heart of our defence but today is probably not the time to try to put it right. My choice would be: Fulop; Stearman, McAuley, N'Gotty, Kisnorbo, Sheehan; Newton, James Chambers, Hayes; Cort, Campbell. Subs: Henderson, McAuley, Fryatt, John, Ashley Chambers. This assumes Mattock, King, Porter, Wesolowski, Clemence and Hume are unfit.
davieG Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 One things for sure our massive squad comes in handy today
escape2victory Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 With our midfield problems at the moment, one of our foreign midfield misfits (Hellings, Ferreria, Ka'abi, Djiziri) must make the bench at least.
jonw88 Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Did anyone see, Hellings was on the bench for the Chelsea match.. when Porter came off, instead of putting him on in midfield, we put on Maybury, who's another right-back to go with the 7 billion already on the field. Must be saying something about how sh*te Hellings is to put Maybury on instead of him in a position he can't even play in!
Thracian Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 With our midfield problems at the moment, one of our foreign midfield misfits (Hellings, Ferreria, Ka'abi, Djiziri) must make the bench at least. Good luck in choosing.
Thracian Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 One things for sure our massive squad comes in handy today Our massive squad perfectly shows the folly of signing quantity instead of quality. and how ironic that three of our better reserves are out on loan - like Kishishev, Dodds and the unavailable Gradel. Not sure if Odhiambo's fit enough for a place on the bench after his return from loan.
Flynny Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Hellings was never intended to be a first choice player, at least not straight away. The fact that he isn't playing doesn't make him a 'misfit'. I've no idea if he's a dud or not, has he played for the reserves and looked okay? As for your team selection, Thracian, I'd start with Fryatt for the sole reason that he's our only player who moves with the ball in the centre of the pitch and makes spaces instead of trying to ping the ball around too quickly.

Decent skills if a touch too slow to release the ball. Too little effect for my liking but that may come if he stays with us long enough - but that's a big if.
Bryn Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 One things for sure our massive squad comes in handy today I think the scary thing is, it actually doesn't.
davieG Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 I think the scary thing is, it actually doesn't. I was being sarcastic

I don't actually rate him THAT highly, but he brings a different dimension to the team with his movement. In fact I'd be very interested in having a look at him "in the hole" behind DJ and Cort. It's Similar reasons why I actually quite like Sheehan. I wouldn't call him a solid left-back but he's almost worth playing for his set-pieces alone. I'm not bringing him up just to get you to side with me. Honest.

Yeates was clearly wound up for it and Sheehan had a mixed first half but second half he virtually eliminated the guy's threat, made four or five vital tackles/interceptions, so nearly bent that late free kick in the corner as well as supplying Fryatt with the pass from which he so nearly scored what would have been an outstanding goal.

Only listened to the game but seems Fryatt did what I suggested he might too. Do we both get to sit back with an air of smug satisfaction even though everyone else is moaning about the draw? I'm game.

Ozwin Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Colchester is a hard place to go to isn't it? It's one of those small grounds where you hear everything the crowd has to say, it's very intimidating and a draw away from home is hardly a bad thing.
Bert Posted 3 November 2007 Posted 3 November 2007 Very few teams come away from Colchester with a win or even a point.
