I've been away for a few weeks and honestly thought we'd have been through at least 1 more manager in that time, but Milan is still furtling about trying to find one!! Any news?

He seems to have neglected managing Sociadad in favour of going to student parties. Subsequently he turns up an hour and a half late for his press conference blaming his leaky washing machine... Needless to say the board are less than impressed.

It was gonna be Royle, Souness or Reid Now think it's someone who's already in a job (Dowie, Holloway etc) Was news of Tigana but that seems to have gone now Looks like Steve Walsh maybe

davieG Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 Milan Mandaric has vowed to use the international break to fill the vacant managerial post at the Walkers Stadium. The Leicester chairman is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to find Gary Megson's successor, with Graeme Souness, Joe Royle, Peter Reid and Jean Tigana reportedly amongst those interviewed. Ian Dowie, Ian Holloway, Steve Cotterill and Nigel Adkins have also been mooted as possible contenders for the role, with Mandaric hoping to make an appointment before Leicester's game against Bristol City on 24th November. The club's supporters have made no secret of their dismay at a lack of an appointment and it is a situation Mandaric is keen to rectify. Appointment needed "We need to sort it out quickly - over the next week or 10 days during this break," Mandaric told the club's official website. "We need a manager to come in and sort us out and get us on a winning streak and that must happen immediately. "I will keep working on the shortlist to get someone on board who can do that." Mandaric went on to concede that he has been eager to speak to a number of candidates that are currently already in employment. "It is difficult to get a good manager as they are all at clubs. "But we are approaching clubs confidentially. I will not do it publicly as I do not want to destabilise those clubs because that is not fair."

Scow Posted 12 November 2007 Posted 12 November 2007 Peter Reid is set to become the new Leicester City manager after chairman Milan Mandaric held talks with the former Sunderland supremo over the weekend.Reid, who's been out of the game since being sacked by Coventry over two years ago, has impressed Mandaric with his visions for the Midlands club. The Foxes have endured a torrid season so far and find themselves 17th in the Championship after a 1-0 loss at home to Burnley. The new manager will be backed with a generous transfer budget in January as Mandaric looks to get the club in to the Premiership. An insider at the club said: ''After interviewing a number of candidates, Milan seems most impressed by Reid. ''I think his success at Sunderland speaks for itself and his experience fits in with what Milan is looking for. ''He's also shown plenty of enthusiasm - which could not be said for the other applicants.''
