From OS

The Leicester City ticket office have reported an upsurge in ticket sales for Saturday's Championship clash against Bristol City at Ashton Gate following the appointment of Ian Holloway as manager.

The Foxes have just 650 of their initial allocation of 2,000 tickets remaining on general sale for the fixture - which pitches former Bristol Rovers player and boss Holloway against his former rivals.

Tickets will remain on general sale at the Walkers Stadium ticket office until 4pm today (Friday). Any remaining tickets will be available from Ashton Gate on the afternoon of the game.

New Leicester City boss Ian Holloway set off for Bristol City with a squad of 19 players on Friday afternoon.

The Foxes chief spent the morning getting to know his new players and took a 45 minute training session ahead of the 1pm departure.

And speaking exclusively to Leicester City World as the coach was about to leave from the Walkers Stadium, Holloway confirmed that he couldn't wait to get down to it after a roller-coaster week.

City: "I just can't wait to get going. The players have got a good attitude and seem quite bright. I have done too much talking though. I feel sorry for them - their ears must have gone.

"I had to get my basic principles across to them to let them know what I am about. They seem to have responded quite well.

"Hopefully we can give a good performance tomorrow."

Bristol-born Holloway played over 450 games for the other team in the city during his career - and also managed Rovers between 1996-2001.

He added: "What a fantastic start for me - to go back to my hometown to take on the old enemy, so to speak.

"We are going to try and get as many points as we can between now and January and then assess what we have got.

"I am just chuffed I have got to say - every single thing has been spot on so far. Let's just see if I can live up to my own expectations."

Meanwhile, Holloway revealed the latest team news ahead of the clash.

He said: "It has been very much a case of listening to what my staff have got to tell me with regards to injuries at this point in time.

"James Chambers and DJ Campbell are both out through injury, while Hossein Kaebi picked up a knock this morning so he won't be on the trip."
